Harmony Hill offers country comforts in a contemporary
log home, set on 17 acres of rolling farmland in Nelson County, Virginia
in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
All of our spacious air-conditioned guest rooms have
private baths, queen-sized beds, comfortable furnishings, hand made
quilts and ceiling fans.
Each room has a unique feature such as a fireplace,
whirlpool tub or sitting room. Special touches such as fresh flowers and
baskets of fruit in each room make every guest feel pampered.
Gather around the fireplace for conversation, board
games, or adding a piece or two to the jigsaw puzzle.
Relax on the porch, enjoy the birds, deer and turkey, or
curl up with a good book from our library in the sun room.

At Harmony Hill, breakfast truly is the most important
meal of the day.
Early risers can relax with coffee while anticipating a
sumptuous breakfast of home-made muffins, breads, and an assortment of
fruits and juices and a hot dish such as Country Fresh Toast, Orange
Waffles, Pumpkin Bread Pudding, or Egg in a Cloud.
Refreshments are served in the afternoon. There are
excellent family-style restaurants open for lunch and dinner in the
Lovingston and Amherst area, 5 to 15 minutes away.
Rooms:
James River Room:
This spacious first floor room is
ideal for business travelers or for longer stays. Beautiful cherry
bedroom suite, complete with a king sized bed, sofa bed and roll top
desk.
Three walls are log, and in
contrast, the fourth is accented by delicate hand stenciling. Lace
curtained windows overlook the rose garden with a glimpse of the
kitchen garden and orchard beyond. Your private bath includes tub and
shower.
Tye River Room:
Old fashioned charm abounds in our sunniest room,
furnished with a mahogany bedroom suite and decorated in soft yellow
with accents of peach and green. The queen size bed features a Trip
Around The World quilt.
Enjoy a spectacular view of farmlands and foothills
from a cushioned window seat, as the aromas of fresh baking beckon you
to breakfast. The Tye River Room has a beautifully appointed en suite
bath with shower.
Oak Ridge Room:
A Double Wedding Ring quilt accents the queen size
burled walnut bed and vanity (circa 1930), formerly belonging to
Joanne's parents.
This spacious, sunny room has a peach and teal color
scheme, including a hand stenciled border. Watch the sun rise over the
foothills, or relax among the cushions in a spacious window seat, with
a view of woodlands.
If the weather's cool, there's a fireplace for your
comfort. Oak Ridge's private bath features deluxe fixtures, including
a whirlpool tub.
Piney River Room:
A country classic, homey and private, one photo can't
capture this room's appeal. In one corner is an antique sewing
machine, in another a wicker rocker. Hand stenciled borders accent
both bedroom and bath, while a jewel-toned Snowball and Nine-Patch
quilt graces the queen size four poster bed.
A lavishly cushioned window seat overlooks acres of
woodlands. Keep an eye out for deer and wild turkeys! You'll enjoy
more pampering in your en suite whirlpool tub.
Blue Ridge Room:
Furnished in the Mission style, we were fortunate to
find a beautiful Mission Oak rocking chair for you to relax in.
A white, red and black Log Cabin quilt is featured on
the queen size bed. The cozy window seat overlooks the front lawn. If
you look closely, you may see cattle grazing under the trees across
the road.
On those cool evenings, a fireplace offers warmth and
romance. The spacious bathroom contains a shower.
