Built in 1820 as a stage coach stop, offering 6 rooms
with private baths and decorated in period and country furnishings.
Full breakfasts are included and a 4 course dinner is
available with advanced notice. There are several rooms with fireplaces
and an English style pub for your enjoyment.
Rowell's Inn is one of those places that ought to be
viewed from a horse drawn sleigh or a vintage car. Sitting as it does on
a bend between Chester and Londonderry.
No one needs to produce credentials to prove that the
inn belongs on the National Register of Historic Places. The Greek
Revival style brick building is a fine example of an unusual recessed
gable style found in the Connecticut Valley, Vermont and occasionally in
New Hampshire.
The past takes over as soon as one opens the door, the
place overflows with historic detail. Rowell's Inn offers hospitality
and service not found in many other places. Rowell's offers lavishly
beautiful rooms with many antique furnishing, country breakfasts, a four
course dinner, cigar pub, rooms with fireplaces, all in a relaxing New
England setting.

Each of these rooms feature beautiful brass or brass
& enamel beds, Master Joshua has an unusual hinged brass headboard
with lace side panels. In each of these rooms as well as Miss Caitlin
and Master William you will note the small sinks in the bedroom room,
in addition to the sinks in the private baths. This is because running
water and the sinks were added to the inn before indoor toilets were
added. Past Innkeepers have kept these in the rooms, even after the
addition of the private baths, which contained sinks of their own.
This on going dedication to preserving the historic past of the Inn is
captured throughout the establishment, please enjoy your stay.
