The Ellerbeck Mansion is a historic Victorian home nestled in the heart of the charming and historic Avenues District of downtown Salt Lake City.

We are big enough to meet your business and travel needs, yet small enough to provide you with the intimate grace of Victorian times.

Renovated and restored to its original charm, the Mansion boasts hardwood floors, original moldings and stained glass, and period theme decor.

The Ellerbeck Mansion is conveniently located at the corner of 3rd Avenue and B Street, in a quiet residential neighborhood just five blocks from the center of downtown Salt Lake City.

Guests can walk to Historic Temple Square, the Church Office block, the new 21,000 seat Conference Center and the ZCMI shopping mall. The mansion is a short 15 minute drive from the Salt Lake International Airport and just 30 minutes from a dozen famous ski resorts.

Elegant Common Areas:

Relax on the main floor or the upstairs gallery, both warmed by fireplaces and charmed with talk from our guests as you conduct business, plan your daily agenda, or relax before dinner.

Large vaulted windows invite the warm sunlight while old books allow an escape for the mind. Rest and relax at the Ellerbeck Mansion.

Guest Rooms:

Each of our six rooms is decorated in seasonal themes, and has its own private bath. We serve breakfast directly to your room, and provide you with the comfort and details that bring back the elegance of a more delicate era.

Debbie, our innkeeper and manager, looks forward to meeting you and making sure your visit to the Ellerbeck Mansion Bed & Breakfast, and to Salt Lake City, is an unforgettable one.

Autumn Winds:

This handsomely decorated suite provides the open space, serenity, and brisk cool emotions of autumn days past. Tender attention to detail can be felt in the hand painted fall leaves and handcrafted wreaths from the harvest. Warm your toes by the fire as you look out onto the streets to see the sun set through the large-framed windows.

Christmas Wishes:

Superbly decorated with a hand-carved walnut sleigh bed and an 18th Century French Armoire. You are sure to feel a holiday celebration from around the world with the ornate year-round Christmas tree. Relax on a private sofa and allow yourself to indulge the rich crimson, forest green, and navy decor. The suite is beautifully lit with a crystal chandelier, and comforted by Father Christmas at the fireplace.

Winter Dreams:

Stars are draped all around you as you sleep in this beautiful 19th Century Canopy bed. Cherubs overlook and protect as you are warmed with a fluffy down comforter while the fire roars against the frosty white walls and large bright windows. You will feel at peace while you escape into your dreams.

Calm Seas:

Decorated with the antique traveling cases and nautical provisions of sea-voyagers from the past. You will feel cozy in this spacious suite. Let the morning light shine through the captain's shutters. Admire the hand-carved hardwood desk and headboard, or practice up on your knot-tying skills.

Spring Breeze:

Feel the freedom and energy of spring in this brilliantly lit, corner suite. The windows provide a bird's-eye view of the historic Avenues District as you watch the passersby. Walk out onto the private deck for some fresh air, and to watch the sun set. The large, cool, marble shower and washroom add to the splendor and excitement we all felt as children in springtime.

Summer Hill:

Return to fresh-cut grass and rolling hills. This suite celebrates the American heritage of small town, apple pie and the red, white and blue. Rest well after a long day surrounded by American antiques and remembrances from the old farm.

The Church Office block, just across the street to the east, contains the high-rise which houses the Church offices, the Joseph Smith Memorial Building (previously the famous Hotel Utah), the Lion House, the Beehive House, and Eagle Gate.

A newly constructed pedestrian mall joins Temple Square with the Church Office block and just across from Temple Square to the north is the new 21,000 seat Conference Center. Old Deseret Village/This is the Place Monument:

The Old Deseret Village recreates the pioneering atmosphere of early Salt Lake City. Wander the dirt roads side-by-side with pioneer men and women, and watch out for the horse drawn wagons! This is the Place Monument, located near the Village, commemorates Brigham Young's famous words as he and his wagon train entered Salt Lake Valley for the first time, "This is the right place." The Mormon pioneers continued on from this spot and settled the Great Salt Lake valley.

The Great Salt Lake:

The Great Salt Lake is the remains of pre-historic Lake Bonneville. One of the world's largest inland bodies of salt water, the Great Salt Lake is a beautiful place to swim, boat, or just enjoy the sunset. Antelope Island, accessible by car, is an animal preserve where you can enjoy antelopes and Bisons in their natural habitat. Also located nearby are the famous Bonneville Salt Flats, well known among car racing aficionados.

Gardner's Historic Village:

Originally a grain mill, Gardner's Historic Village is now a collection of historic homes converted into quaint shops. Wander through the "lanes" and pick up hand-made lace and quilts, original paintings, old fashioned candy, Victorian reproductions, and other items. The shops surround the old mill which now serves as a restaurant. A museum explaining the history of the mill sits at the center of the village.

Park City - Historic Main Street:

Park City is a historic town set in the heart of the mountains, only a thirty minute drive from down town Salt Lake. Wander the shops on historic main street, eat at the variety of restaurants, visit the factory outlet shops, ride the "Great Silver Mine Adventure", or visit the museum. If you miss the winter skiing, visit the Alpine Slides during the summer months.

Historic Homes Tour:

If you enjoy historic architecture, be sure to visit the Utah Historic Society and pick up a copy of the self-guided walking tour. Tours vary in length, and take you through various time periods and architectural styles. This is a great way to get a flavor for the beauty of Salt Lake.

Shopping:

Shopping is available at the Park City Outlet Mall and the VF Factory Outlets in Draper. Both are about a 30 minute drive from downtown Salt Lake. We can help you find your way! Two large retail malls are also located within walking distance of the Ellerbeck Mansion.
