Affordable luxury! Modeled after the Old Bell Inn in Finedon, England, The Red Coach Inn has been welcoming guests to Niagara Falls since 1923.

Overlooking the spectacular Upper Rapids, just 1500 feet from the American Falls, the inn is Niagara's most distinctive historic structure, with its English Tudor exterior and its warm English country ambience.

Awards:

The Red Coach Inn is Niagara's only bed and breakfast inn with AAA Three Diamond and Mobil Three Star awards.

The inn was chosen as a top Ten getaway by Fortune magazine, featured in AAA Today, The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Boston Globe, Kansas City Star, San Diego Union Tribune, and Toledo Blade.

We have Niagara's only AAA Three Diamond restaurant - rated "Four Stars - Excellent" by The Niagara Gazette, winner of the Western New York Chef Challenge and the Taste of Buffalo "People's Choice" award.

Rooms:

The Red Coach Inn offers luxurious two bedroom suites, one bedroom suites and guestrooms, each uniquely decorated with period antiques and reproductions.

All spacious suites overlook the thundering rapids, and most have kitchens, fireplaces and canopy beds.

All accommodations are air conditioned with private full bath, Jacuzzi jetted tub, telephone with data port, voicemail, Bose stereo, color cable television with HBO, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, luxurious Frette robes, hairdryer and Gilchrist & Soames amenities from England.

Continental breakfast and newspaper are provided daily en suite, and champagne with fruit and cheese upon arrival.

We provide a smoke free environment for all of our guests. We would be happy to recommend a kennel for those guests traveling with pets.

Two Bedroom Suites:

These suites include two queen size beds with a separate living room, Jacuzzi tub, fireplace and gorgeous views of the rapids. Additional amenities include voicemail, data ports, plush robes, fully equipped kitchen, sofa sleeper, Bose stereo, and hair dryer.

One Bedroom Suites:

These suites include a queen size bed with a separate living room, Jacuzzi tub and gorgeous views of the rapids. Additional amenities include voicemail, data ports, plush robes, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, Bose stereo, and hair dryer.

Guestrooms:

These rooms include a queen size bed with a Jacuzzi tub. Additional amenities include voicemail, data ports, plush robes, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, stereo, VCR and hair dryer.

Dining:

Our chefs create a new lunch and dinner menu each day, featuring Black Angus beef, pastas, "light" selections and the finest seafood available shipped direct from Foley's of Boston.

The Grill Room, with its wood paneled booths and wrought iron chandeliers, is warmed by a roaring wood fire in winter. In summer the outdoor patio, surrounded by our beautiful garden, is a favorite dining spot.

The Rapids Room, an enclosed porch with leaded glass windows, offers a panoramic view of the majestic Niagara Rapids.

Our Cruvinet wine bar has rich mahogany paneling with brass accents. It features an array of vintage wines by the glass, specialty drinks, flavored coffees, cappuccino and beers from around the world.

The cozy Fireside Room has a locally made antique Wurlitzer grand piano and an extensive library. It is a perfect gathering place for cocktails, an after dinner drink, or for simply relaxing with a book by the fire.

Our banquet rooms can comfortably accommodate parties up to 50 with picture windows offering spectacular views of the Niagara Rapids.

History:

When The Red Coach Inn first opened its doors for business on August 30, 1923, Niagara Falls had finally gained a hostelry befitting its rank as the honeymoon capital of the world.

Situated near the center of town overlooking the spectacular upper rapids, the inn was an imposing structure, three and one half stories high and built in the architectural style of the old English Tudor period.

No expense or effort was spared by the owners, William Schoelkopf and Charles Peabody, in recreating the atmosphere and style of the Old Bell inn in Finedon, England, which history says "was granted a license during the reign of the Saxon King Harold and Queen Editha who often rested there when stag hunting."

Above the fireplace in the Grill Room is a painting of General La Fayette's famous Red Coach, for which the Inn is named, by Buffalo artist A. Rafael Beck. The scene depicts the greeting of La Fayette at the Eagle Tavern, which was located across the street in the early nineteenth century.
