Black Creek Farm Bed and Breakfast is located on a "20 acre slice of serenity" two miles from Lake Ontario and Fair Haven, NY, centrally located to Rochester and Syracuse. The "old painted lady" began its history as a home for newly weds and we like to think it still has its romance intact.

Enjoy the gazebo and its pond with waterfalls or relax on the porch filled with wicker rockers. Under the weeping birch, you will find a hammock for two. Fishing in our stocked pond can bring a smile to your face as you catch the big one. Whatever your pleasure, we hope you find the serenity you need at Black Creek Farm.

Main House:

Our Victorian home was built in 1888 for newlyweds Frank and Rose Mixer. We have lovingly restored it to its former self and filled it with period antiques.

Breakfast is served on a round oak table with china, crystal and silver.

Enjoy the formal parlor and its 1850's sofa and chairs. Our den has a TV, VCR, and satellite dish for watching movies and sports on rainy days.

Our three bedrooms each have queen beds and private baths. Air-conditioned in the summer for your comfort, each room is a trip to the past with all modern conveniences. Some rooms have antique iron beds while another has a walnut bed standing 6 feet tall!

Outside the main house, are the garden paths to wander and the porch for reading. The hammock for napping is under the 100 year old birch trees.

Guesthouse:

Black Creek Farm offers a cabin overlooking a private pond on the property for you to really get away by yourself. Through the firs and over the drumlin, the driveway to the cabin enhances the solitude you are looking for.

Built to take you back to the early 1800's, the cabin is fully equipped for today's camper. From the microwave to the two-person shower, our cabin will be a private delight for your next get away. With two single beds, a queen bed, and a sofa double bed the cabin can easily accommodate a family of 4 to 6 and well behaved children are welcome.

We have a dock and a peddle boat for your enjoyment. We have poles for you to try to catch the "big one".

And after a day of outdoor fun, you can warm up by a cozy fireplace.

Activities:

Along with the quiet the country has to offer, Black Creek Farm is also a peaceful getaway from the bustle of city life. Watch the birds bathe in the stream from the gazebo, or read a book on the wicker filled porch. Our hammock for two makes a great place for a nap.

If you want more activity borrow our bicycle for two and wander down the country lanes. We will supply poles for fishing in our stocked pond where you can catch large or small mouth bass, calico bass, or perch.

The Sterling Nature Center is close by as is the Sterling Renaissance Festival. Fair Haven Beach State Park and Lake Ontario are just 3 miles away and offer fishing, boating and swimming.

Black Creek Farm is located in a wonderful place to make those day trips to the 1000 Islands, Finger Lakes Wineries, Niagara Falls and many other New York scenic wonders.

Winter months at Black Creek Farm is a peaceful respite also. There's cross country skiing and snowmobiling with ice skating on the pond and sledding on the hill.
