LoonSong Bed & Breakfast offers something special for everyone. An
exceptional peaceful wildness getaway experience, located on beautiful Heart
Lake and next to Itasca State Park, the headwaters of the Mississippi River.
LoonSong has a wonderful warm and inviting charm. A truly unique opportunity
not found anywhere, a secluded, wooded split log home nestled in the wood along
Heart Lake.
A grand staircase greets you in the open great-room, which has a fireplace
and spectacular views of the pristine lake. An open floor plan gives the inn the
feel of a gallery, with pine walls and floor milled from trees harvested on the
property after 1995 storm of the century. The warmth from the stone fireplace in
the great-room is a wonderful place to curl up and read a book or enjoy pleasant
conversation by the fire with a glass of wine.
The inns second floor lofted area wraps around the great staircase and
overlooks the dining room and kitchen. Huge windows offer an awesome tree top
view, perfect for savoring morning solitude or autumn colors. It is a quiet
place to sit on the wicker settee and chairs and past the day away in the
sunlight. The second floor commons area is the center for cards and board games,
with puzzles on the table and places to be cozy and snuggle on the couch, while
watching a movie by the fireplace. A row of windows offers great view of the
lake and evenings sunsets.
Good Eating:
Bring a hearty appetite and enjoy breakfast made by Barb. A basket of coffee
and muffins is delivering to your room door in around 7 to tide you over until
breakfast is served, which is served around 8:30 or 9 in the warm and cozy
sunlit dinning area. Sit around the large oak table looking out at the colorful
garden, where bird watching is good, and put away scrumptious things like fluffy
peach panakokens, homemade sausages, raspberry French toast piled with whip
cream and raspberries sprinkled on top, other times eggs, bacon, Barb's caramel
sweet rolls, pancake with blueberries, fresh fruit and always lots of rich
coffee.
