“...It is an interesting biological fact that all of
us have, in our veins, the exact same percentage of salt in our blood
that exists in the ocean, and therefore, we have salt in our blood, in
our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back
to the sea--whether it is to sail or to watch it--we are going back from
whence we came."
John F. Kennedy
Nestled in a wooded residential area - just a short
stroll to the ocean, you will find Lion's Head Inn.
Once home to Thomas L. Snow, a captain of Orient-bound
schooners, Lion's Head Inn has welcomed Cape Cod visitors for 'half a
century'. While the early 1800's dwelling has been expanded and updated
over the years, adding to the comfort of guests, much of the original
Cape Cod architecture and romantic charm remain.
Come back to 'whence you came' and enjoy the feel of the
Cape while relaxing in one of six comfortable guest rooms or two fully
equipped cottages at Lion's Head Inn.
Guest Rooms:
All six guest rooms have a private bath, a comfortable
sitting area and air conditioning. Each room is tastefully decorated
with period furnishings reflecting the charm and romance of an English
Country Manor.
The Snow, Roberts and Rose rooms each have a queen-size
bed as well as a day bed to accommodate an additional guest.
The gracious Canterbury Room has a canopied queen-size
bed, the original pine floors and a private deck overlooking the pool.
The Llanfair Room, decorated in white wicker, has a double bed and a
window view of the pool and gardens. The Huntington Suite offers a
king-size bed and a double trundle bed, providing sleeping
accommodations for two additional guests. This oversized room also
features a large sitting area with a sofa, stuffed easy chair and color
cable TV. French doors lead directly to the pool and garden areas from
the Huntington.
Common Areas:
The spacious, fireplace Living Room and cozy Parlor are
inviting places where bed and breakfast guests may read, relax or visit.
On a brisk afternoon or evening, a warming fire welcomes friends home
after a day of touring the Cape. Interesting reading material and color
television are available in the parlor.
The bright Terrace Room, looking out on the beautiful
gardens, patio and pool, is where a hearty Continental-plus breakfast is
served each day. Guests often gather in the Terrace Room during the
afternoon and evening to play cards or board games. In-season beverages
and tasty light snacks are served in this room daily around 4 P.M. A
small refrigerator and telephone are made available here for the use of
bed and breakfast guests.
Cottages:
Adjacent to the Bed & Breakfast are two family
cottages which are normally rented on a weekly basis, Saturday to
Saturday, from mid-May through mid-September. Shorter stays are
available during the Spring and Fall months.
Each cottage offers a fully equipped kitchen with dining
area, a living room with a futon (sleeps two) and color cable TV. Each
primary bedroom has a double bed and a bath with shower.
Outside, are picnic tables, barbecue grills, another
shower and a large play area for children as well as a 20’ X 40’
in-ground pool.
The Wanderer, the one bedroom cottage, will accommodate
up to four guests and the two bedroom cottage, The Morgan, easily
accommodates up to five people.
The cottages provide a perfect setting for a family
summer vacation or “Holiday Getaway."

Lion's Head Inn is a member of the Massachusetts Lodging
