The Lazy Bean is a unique Victorian bed & breakfast located
directly on Onset Bay.
Formerly, The Holland Inn Restaurant, The Lazy Bean was renovated as
a bed & breakfast in 2002 to offer its guests a peaceful place to
spend some time away. With its simple seaside elegance and beautifully
landscaped grounds, you are sure to enjoy your stay.
After awakening to the smell of coffee, all B&B guests are
treated to a three course candlelight breakfast. Just steps from the
door, you will be greeted by the white sandy private beach where you
will find warm waters, lounge chairs, beach umbrellas and a pedal boat.
After a hard day of soaking up the sun, you can unwind in the hot tub
(open year round), enjoy a stroll through the charming streets of Onset
Village or kick back on the front porch.
The Lazy Bean is just a short stroll along the bay to Onset Village
where you will find casual and formal dining, kayak & boat rentals,
canal cruises, fishing, shopping and more. We are just a short
drive to two golf courses, miniature golf, water parks and antique
stores.
Within approximately 30 minutes to historic Plymouth Center, Hyannis
and New Bedford and 1 hour from Boston, Provincetown and Newport, RI.
Or if you prefer, we are the perfect place to sit back relax and just do
nothing!
The B&B is open for year round enjoyment and is equipped with
central air.

Rooms:
The bed & breakfast offers three guestrooms, all of which offer
private baths and un-matched views of Onset Bay.
The Lazy Bean is the perfect place to sit back, relax and just do
nothing and is decorated in a casual seaside flair. All guest rooms
include a robes, TV/VCR, Gilcrest and Soames bath amenities, central air
and spectacular water views.
Carriage House:
Just steps to the private beach, The Lazy Bean Carriage House is a
first floor unit located behind the Bed & Breakfast.
The Carriage House offers two bedrooms; one furnished with a queen
bed, the other with bunk beds, living room, and fully equipped kitchen.
A private deck offers patio furniture, gas grill and view of the bay.
For your convenience, we have tried to provide all the necessities such
as sheets, towels, blow dryer, iron and robes. The unit is also equipped
with two cable TVs, VCR, CD player and some board games.
Our Carriage House guests are welcome to use all onsite amenities
including the hot tub (open year round), bikes, pedal boat, beach
chairs, beach toys, umbrellas and outdoor shower.
In season, the Carriage House is available on a weekly basis.
Off-season, both weekly and weekend packages are available.
As a courtesy to our other guests, we do not allow pets or smoking
inside the unit.
Gift Shop:
Be sure to visit our small but quaint Gift Shop which offers
something for everyone. Items include Lazy Bean t-shirts, sweatshirts
and robes as well as candles, dried flowers arrangements, jewelry,
memorabilia, and much more.
Most items can be ordered over the phone and shipped.
About Onset:
Situated in a snug corner of Buzzards Bay at the mouth of the west
end of the Cape Cod Canal, Onset Village is a unique Victorian seaside
village surrounded by the shores of a bay that bears it's name.
Onset has beautiful white sandy beaches and breathtaking views from
the bluffs making Onset the Cape's best kept secret. Activities within
walking distance include kayaking, deep-sea fishing, whale watching,
canal cruises, golfing, tennis, shopping and restaurants.

From the Boston area western Massachusetts or upstate New York:
- Take necessary routes to I-495 South
- Continue with directions below
From NYC, Connecticut and Providence RI:
- Take I-95 North to Providence
- Take I-195 East to Route 25 East.
- Continue with directions below
Take exit 1 and bear right off the exit ramp. At the 7th traffic
light, make a right on Onset Ave. Follow for 2 miles, just before the
Stone Bridge take a left onto South Water Street.
The Lazy Bean is the fourth house on your left. The Carriage House
is located directly behind the B&B (on the corner of Myrtle
Street).
From Boston, South Shore:
- Take Route 3 South, continue to the Sagamore Bridge Rotary.
- Take Route 6 West (Wareham/Buzzards Bay).
- Do not cross the bridge.
- Continue along the Cape Cod Canal road to the Bourne Rotary (3
miles).
- Halfway around the rotary, exit right on Route 6, which will join
onto Route 28 at another rotary.
- Continue over the Buttermilk Bay Bridge.
- Take a left at the lights onto Onset Ave.
- Travel approximately 2 miles on Onset Ave.
- Take a left onto South Water Street, before you cross the Stone
Bridge.
The Lazy Bean is the fourth house on your left. The Carriage House
is located directly behind the B&B (on the corner of Myrtle
