Breakfast:
Our resident hens reward us daily with large jumbo eggs for the best
tasting omelets; and our large vegetable garden provides many of the
ingredients used in our recipes, such as tomatoes, peppers, parsley,
chives, sweet strawberries, Maine blueberries, and juicy cantaloupe for
breakfasts out of this world!
Our kitchen is the heart of activity, where fancy homespun breakfasts
are prepared for your enjoyment. Gourmet breakfasts include coffee,
flavored teas, home made apple jelly, fresh juices, the freshest fruit,
and home made granola. Hot entrées like applesauce crepes, cherry
blintzes, stuffed French toast with apricot sauce drizzle, and eggs
benedict are but a few of the hot entrees you can expect to find at
Woodland Gardens.
And of course our table is ever changing with beautiful table linens,
antique dishes, fine china and stylish stoneware making our breakfasts a
feast for the eyes as well as the palate.
Welcoming snacks are set out late afternoon with cold spring water
and iced tea in warm weather. When it's cold, steeped Earl Gray and
herbal teas, hot cocoa or mulled apple cider help to keep guests warm
and pampered.
Chocolate Moose:
Because our moose visits the grounds so often we have come to call
her Chocolate. Perhaps she will visit when you visit. Let's hope so!
In addition, it is not unusual to see deer and wild turkeys visit our
grounds. Bird watching is easily enjoyed with over 50 species of birds
visiting our feeders throughout the year.
Personal Touch:
With advance notice, we can arrange special touches to personalize
your visit such as balloon bouquets, special floral arrangements, a box
of chocolate truffles or fine chocolates, or perhaps something specific
and special to you. We will even keep it a surprise if you would like.
Porches:
Guests love to linger in our warm and welcoming porches. We invite
you to relax in them as if they were your own. It's the perfect place to
see flickering fireflies, listen to the crickets, hear the trickle of
our water fountain, gaze at our shade gardens, or better yet, do nothing
at all.
Want to wake up with the sun washing over you as you rock away early
in the morning?
Our welcoming porch does just that and you always can find a guest or
two slowly waking up as they sip fresh brewed coffee before breakfast.
You will be made to "feel at home" and you will "want to
linger".
Our cozy covered side porch is a favorite gathering spot for guests
to mingle before departing for the day's activities. Good conversation
and lots of laughter can always be shared here, and our Phoebe Birds who
nest here, might even let you linger.
