The Dockside is a special place on the Maine seacoast.
The Dockside captures the essence of Maine with natural
beauty, warmth (even in winter), gracious hospitality and abundant array
of sights, recreation and activities. This unique location on a private
peninsula provides an unsurpassed panoramic view of York Harbor and the
Atlantic ocean.
Spacious grounds offer privacy, relaxation and classic
Maine natural beauty.
Accommodations:
Accommodations are in the Maine House, a quintessential
"New England Cottage" and modern multi-unit buildings at the
waters edge.
All rooms in the Maine House enjoy large porches
overlooking York Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean, complete with wicker
rocking chairs so you can take in the harbor activity.
The rooms in the multi-unit buildings have private decks
with water views each looking directly out the harbor channel to the
ocean.
Breakfast:
We offer a delicious breakfast buffet each morning,
which can be enjoyed on the front porch overlooking the water or during
the winter by the cracking fire in the living room.
Dockside Restaurant:
June through October the Dockside Restaurant serves
dinner and lunch in a bi-level dining room that affords every seat a
water view.
The Dockside Restaurant is nestled on the shores of York
Harbor. Watch the all the nautical activity from our screened porch or
bi-level dining room, there isn't a "bad seat" in the house.
Local seafood as well a wide variety of other favorites
make the Dockside popular with locals and visitors alike.
We are known to locals and return visitors as the place
for well prepared fresh Maine seafood at a reasonable price. Chef Friel
is renowned for his creative preparations of not only seafood but veal,
beef, poultry and pastas.
The Portland Press Herald awarded the Dockside 4 out of
5 stars for it's cuisine, service and ambiance.
Activities:
The Dockside has a wide range of on site activities....
Croquet on the Maine House front lawn overlooking the
ocean. Badminton by the garden. Shuffleboard under the maple trees.
Borrow one of our bicycles for a tour along the beach. Take our 8' row
boat for a cruise around the harbor. Captain the 13' outboard up the
York River (prior experience required). Join our Harbor/River Cruise
captained by one of the innkeepers. Or... just sit in the gazebo and
watch the harbor activity.
The York area boasts an abundant and diverse array of
sites, recreation and activities. With such a wide range of things to do
and see, we have developed an Activities Guide which we place in each
guest room to help you make the most of your stay.
Listed below is a partial list of some things to do and
see in the area.

The town of York is fortunate to have all of these
