Breakfast Selections:
Your mother was right not to skip breakfast in the
morning when - especially while you are residing at The House of Two
Urns. Enjoy one of the many variations of the following sample
breakfasts served regularly here:
Breakfast always includes, coffee or tea, orange juice,
and a fresh fruit cup - if fruit is not part of the bread entree - and
some sort of freshly baked bread item such as:
French Toast a la Morrie - Named after a guest who
always asked for a banana to top his French toast, this is the Two Urns
signature dish. Raisin bread French toast is laced with a touch of
almond and cinnamon and topped off with fresh bananas, toasted almonds
served with warmed maple syrup
Scones - "melt-in-your mouth" and fresh from
the oven, if you show up on time for breakfast served with fresh
raspberry jam made from berries grown in the garden, orange marmalade,
banana butter, blue-goose jam or one of the other house jam specialties.
Toffee Coffee Cake - pecans and toffee top off this
delightful cake-like treat.
Bagels - fresh from a local Bagel Bakery, they are
generally still warm from the oven, served with cream cheeses and
marmalades du jardin - orange, raspberry, apple or banana butters ...
Yum!!!
Oh, Boy! Waffles- generally topped with some type of
fresh fruit, or filled with dried fruit or nuts.
Banana Bread or muffins - Sometimes made with bran for a
heartier version, or with chocolate chips and/or nuts for a more
decadent version this bread is a hearty, moist choice.
Zucchini Bread - from my Aunt Esther's recipe book comes
this moist, rich bread filled with zucchini, pineapple, nuts and
raisins.
