The Spyglass House is a Magical Oceanfront Paradise
located on the North Shore of Maui ½ mile from the surf town of Paia.
We have three houses with eight unique rooms situated around a brick
top courtyard with sunken tiled Jacuzzi all 30 feet from the waters
edge. Great for singles, couples, or large groups up to 20. Rooms can be
rented individually or by the house. Relax in a loveseat on the grassy
lawn overlooking the ocean. Hear the crashing waves, feel the ocean
breeze, see the colorful rainbows and bask in the warm Maui sun...
Let's explore the houses...
The Main House:
Master Bedroom:
You want enchantment! Wake up in the morning to the
sun shining in on your king size bed through the antique stained glass
windows. Then jump in the long oval tub in your private koa walled
Master Bath. The Master Bedroom has its own private bath with
beautiful stained glass windows.
Blue Room:
Our Blue room is small but royal. Full size bed, hard
wood floor, and large stained glass window; create an almost
renaissance feeling. The high ceiling bathroom is not connected to the
room but is private unless there is an event in the main living room.
The only other guests in the 1st floor of the main house have they're
own bathroom.
Living Room:
The entire Ground Floor can be rented as private home.
Excellent for groups, families, weddings or retreats.
The Crow's Nest:
This is a very small but enchanting room. The full
length wall of windows towers above the courtyard with a full view of
the ocean and the West Maui Mountains. Pull shut the curtains and you
have all the privacy you need along with your private bathroom and
shower.
The Loft:
Situated in the apex of our Main House, this low
ceiling loft offers the luxury of living in the upstairs of the main
House but at an affordable rate. The patchwork quilt covers the queen
size bed on the carpeted floor of the loft. Close the curtains and you
have the privacy of a little elfin getaway.
The Dolphin House:
King Neptune's Room:
Wonderfully bright and airy with a king size bed, tall
ceilings, stained glass, and ocean view. The bathroom is shared with
the mermaid room and has an antique bathtub.
The Mermaid Room:
Small but very magical, this room has a full-size bed,
it's own entrance from the lanai, and an enchanting view of the ocean.
The bathroom is shared with the KuÍono room with its antique clawfoot
bathtub.
The Garden Room:
This room, With it's high ceilings faces the back of
the cottage with a beautiful view of Haleakala. There is a full-size
bed and a twin bed with enough room for an extra futon on the floor if
needed. The room has an adorable private yellow tiled bathroom.
Local's Guide To Maui:
When you stay at the Spyglass House, you have access to
the best local guides on Maui. We will give you directions to a locals
only waterfall hike that will be the highlight of your trip. We can also
give you private surf lessons directly in front of the Spyglass House,
take you on a bike ride down Haleakala, or take you flower, fruit and
herb harvesting at our jungle farm.
Is that all? Heavens no! While at Spyglass, we also
recommend that you:
- get a massage
- relax in our Jacuzzi
- lay in our hammock
- barbecue on our outdoor grill
- use our upcountry gym facility
- dance on our hardwood floors
- visit the woodworkers cooperative
- go windsurfing at Hookipa
- attend our yoga class
- and much much more
Location:
Spyglass House is located, on the point of Tavares Bay,
½ mile from the bohemian surf town of Paia. Within a mile's distance
lies Baldwin Beach Park to the West, and Ho'okipa Beach Park to the
East. Baldwin Beach Park has nearly a mile long stretch of white sandy
beach, a soccer field, a basketball court and picnic pavilion. Ho'okipa
Beach Park is known as the worlds' best windsurfing spot with several
surf breaks for surfing from beginning level to expert. Swimming and
surfing are also possible a stone's throw away from our doorstep. Living
½ mile from Paia town is very convenient. This quaint little village
takes up only ¾ of a square mile, yet has the personality of a big
town. Another big advantage to staying on the North Shore is our close
proximity to countless waterfalls. Our hiking guides would love to take
you on an adventure to one of these secret spots that the ordinary
tourist never would find, guaranteed to blow your mind with raw beauty.
Directions to Spyglass from the Kahului Airport:
Get on Hana Highway going toward Hana. Go through the
stoplight in Paia town ½ mile to 367 Hana Highway. There are 3
mailboxes on the left with a Spyglass sign on our box. Turn left toward
the ocean and go 200 yards to the first house on the right. You will see
the two story pole house with stained glass windows. The office is
upstairs.
