The Rainbow Plantation Bed & Breakfast Inn is located on the Big Island of Hawaii.

This peaceful bed and breakfast is a secluded, private, tropical and natural hideaway that is far from the street noises. It is very easy to find and conveniently located near shopping and dining.

The elevation is 1200 feet, with gentle and comfortable climate (on the ocean side of the Highway).

At the Rainbow Plantation you will be surrounded by tropical plants and flowers. This is naturally a retreat for eco-tourists, bird watchers, animal/nature lovers and travelers who seek a natural, non-touristy, non toxic environment in which to relax and unwind. Listen to the sounds of nature, rest in one of many hammocks and feel the gentle breezes.

The lovable white Labrador mix, adorable pot belly pigs, the happy parrots, peacocks, friendly, plump chickens, colorful Koi fish and many wild birds share this special paradise. All are well behaved and do no disturb our guests.

All guestrooms and cottages have private baths and entrances. They are bright, clean, and comfortable with cable televisions, refrigerators, (some have VCR and phone). Short time Internet access is possible.

Location:

This seven acre coffee and macadamia plantation is about 35 minutes by car from the Kailua-Kona Airport (17 miles), 20 minutes south of Kailua-Kona (10 miles) and only a few feet from Napoopoo road which leads to Kealakekua Bay, a marine sanctuary and snorkeler's paradise. The top of Napoopoo Road, (just minutes from the farm) also starts a hiking train to the Captain Cook Monument. This train can also be traveled by horseback.

Peacock Room:

Comfortable, romantic unit with private bath, private entrance, Cable TV, refrigerator, terrace view to garden and Koi ponds.

Queen size brass bed plus couch. Sleeps 3 maximum.

Crows Nest:

Upper unit in two unit building, with large living room, bathroom tub/shower, private lanai and bedroom on top floor. TV and refrigerator, ocean view and view to private gardens.

Queen size bed and two bed couches in living room. Sleeps 4 maximum.

Hale Huna:

Cozy cottage in two unit building. Private entrance, ohia lanai, bedroom, living room, TV and refrigerator, private bath (double shower) and garden view.

Queen size bed plus single bed couch in living room. Sleeps 3 maximum.

Jungle Queen:

34 foot retired Hawaiian fishing boat converted into a cozy and comfortable cottage. Air conditioning, TV/VCR, full shower, V berth, state room, poop deck. Nestled on the edge of forest (not on water).

Two full futon beds in V berth, full bed couch in state room. Sleeps 3 maximum.

Hale Kukui:

Private room with separate bath house (shared with one other unit). Skylights for stargazing, view to forest and garden. TV, refrigerator. No breakfast offered (Jungle Kitchen available).

Double futon bed couch. For single or double occupancy only. Minimum stay of 5 nights.
