Explore the magical Big Island from here - retreat to an exotic Polynesian vacation get away. This idyllic getaway is in cool Volcano Village at 3700' elevation, three miles from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and 25 miles from quaint, historic Hilo, Hawaii. Hilo is the nearest airport.

Cottages:

The Teahouse Cottage Escape:

The simple elegance of the Orient replete with an antique Japanese tansu dresser, kimonos and slippers.

The cottage will accommodate up to 5 persons.

Enter your French doors passing Bali masks, a Thai Buddha, and lighted spirit house. The Teahouse also features a cedar exterior with fir flooring, a pine cathedral ceiling, area rugs and a Koa and marble fireplace surround. The mini kitchen is hidden behind a louvered door.

The full private bath with tub/shower has a large skylight. Your Queen bed is adorned with a "Kyoto" style comforter in a bamboo design; the living area rattan in Bird of Paradise. There is also a double futon couch/bed.

Amenities include ceiling fans, remote controlled fireplace (from bed), phone, CD player, VCR and electric BBQ on request.

The view from your "wall of windows" is of the 'heavenly' gardens with a rainforest backdrop.

Hale Lehua:

Reclusive Hale Lehua with decor reminiscent of "Old Hawaii" offers a tree house view of the lush forest. The cottage will accommodate 5 comfortably.

Hale Lehua features a mixture of woods - cedar exterior and interior cathedral ceiling, oak flooring and a fireplace surround of granite and oak. A birch and marble topped island counter with rattan barstools separates the living area from the very functional kitchen.

The Queen bed is bathed in a tapa cloth motif and vintage rattan covered in a 40's style bamboo forest scene. There is a bamboo framed sleeping loft with treetop views through an expanse of glass.

Amenities include full private bath with tub/shower, ceiling fans, remote controlled fireplace (from bed), CD player, VCR and electric BBQ on request. Cordless phone on request.

French doors and sliding doors open onto a wrap-around deck with outdoor furniture for lounging or dining amidst the tree ferns accompanied by a symphony of native songbirds.

The cottage comes complete with terry cloth robes and slippers for your comfort and warmth in Volcano's cool mountain air.

Breakfast:

For breakfast, the choice is yours - delivered to your cottage or join your host for a candlelit special. The menu includes local tropical fruits, juices, and a variety of baked delights.

Recently Added Amenities:

On site therapeutic massage by a LMT/Nurse Practitioner. For that special, romantic occasion order a gourmet dinner delivered to the cottages by a local chef/caterer. Both are reasonably priced and require advanced notice. Contact us for rates and reservations.

Please Note:

In order to ensure safe, smoke free interiors, smoking is not permitted inside the cottages. Our guests who enjoy smoking are welcome to do so on the lanais or in the gardens.
