step back in time and get away to yesterday.
Upon arrival, relax on the front porch or by the pool with a glass of
our ice tea or walk to beautiful historic downtown Thomasville, awarded
the "Great American Main Street Award" in 1998, one of only
five towns in our country. The National Trust for Historic Preservation
named Thomasville to its list, "Dozen Distinctive Destinations
Award" in May of 2000.
The Ephraim G. Ponder House is on the National Register of Historic
Places. With two grand staircases, 12 foot ceilings, incredible woodwork
and crown molding, formal living room and dining room, ten fireplaces,
formal grounds with a beautiful swimming pool for our guests pleasure
and relaxation we are sure you will enjoy every minute of your stay with
us.
Rooms:
Each of our suite size bedrooms is complimented with queen or king
high quality beds and private bathrooms equipped with all soaps,
shampoos, conditioners and ample towels.
All suites have very large windows with views of the grounds, pool or
historic district. Grounds are Charleston style with old brick, stone
walls and iron gates.
Miss Alice's Room:
A king size room - one of our most elegant with unique bath
facilities, a four poster king size brass bed and cable TV.
Miss Margaret's Treetop Room:
Large second floor room with four large sunny windows overlooking
Historic Dawson Street and grounds. With a feeling of being in the
treetops from this room, you'll enjoy a queen size cherry sleigh bed
with private bath and cable TV. Bath features claw foot tub.
Miss Ola's Room:
Large second floor room overlooking the grounds from three large
windows. King size rice 4 poster bed with private bath and cable TV.
In this room, the signature of Miss C. Hansell may still be seen
scratched by her diamond on a windowpane dated Nov. 1, 1886.
Miss Ann's Room:
A double - double newly decorated and furnished with cable TV.
Private bath has tub and shower with a separate dressing room
(additional charge for more than 2 persons).
Dawson Street Room:
Large second floor sunny windows overlooking Historic Dawson Street
& grounds. Queen brass bed with private bath and cable TV.
Miss Blanche's Garden Room:
One of our most elegant with antique bath facilities. King brass
bed with antique wicker furniture. Large second floor room with three
large windows overlooking the swimming pool, flowering shrubs, and
beautiful live oaks.
Breakfast:
Expect coffee and tea service early. Juice, fresh fruit, baked
delights and elegant hot dishes are served later in the morning. Don't
miss the entertaining table conservation!
