Located in the very heart of "Olde Captiva", our location makes it easy for you to enjoy the fine shops, fabulous restaurants, art galleries, an old-style general store... and, most importantly, our famous Captiva beach with the most beautiful sunsets in the world! And, when the sun rises over the coconut palms and sea-pines, you'll enjoy strolling along the shore -- looking out over the Gulf of Mexico and sorting through the piles of seashells left there by the previous tide.

About The Owner:

I fell in love with this place the very first time I saw it... so much so in fact that I bought it! Unlike some of the other generic resorts in the area, the cottages at the Captiva Island Inn are reminiscent of those at Martha's Vineyard -- or Hopetown in the Abacos. I can't wait to share them with you!

Let us help you plan a relaxing, romantic, and unique kind of vacation. Sailing, fishing, shelling, sea kayaking, scuba diving, or even a guided canoe trip with a local naturalist are just a few of the activities available to you. Or, at the end of the day, just lay on a hammock in our lush, tropical gardens and stare at the stars as you plan your next move!

Amenities:

We offer you the choice of one or two-bedroom suites. Each cottage is complete with a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a sleeper sofa, air conditioning, and color television.

We provide you with a pair of bikes for exploring the island, beach chairs for the beach, and lotion for the sun!

Rooms:

Gardenia:

Our largest room, Gardenia is located downstairs in the main inn.  It has two colorful bedrooms (one with stars on the walls!), a bathroom, and a kitchen. The living room / dining room area also has a daybed. The deck area looks out over Andy Rosse Lane, where live music from R.C. Otter's will entertain you and keep you in the island state of mind.

Lantana:

The Lantana is located upstairs in the main inn, with a separate bedroom, full kitchen, bathroom, and a living room with a sofa-sleeper... and has a lovely deck overlooking beautiful Andy Rosse Lane. You'll enjoy sitting on your own private balcony while you listen to the wonderful island-style acoustic guitar music coming from RC Otters across the street!

Cottages:

Hibiscus:

This cottage is bright, cheerful, and perfect for a couple or a family... complete with a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious bathroom, separate bedroom, and a living room with a sofa sleeper. A large, private deck surrounds the cottage, and an inviting hammock is waiting for you just outside your door -- near the barbecue grill!

The Mimosa:

The Mimosa is a charming island-style cottage with a sectioned off bedroom area. This intimate little getaway comes with a small kitchen, a living room with a sofa sleeper, a bathroom... and your own delightfully private deck!

The Orchid:

The Orchid is the most artistically-styled cottage that the Inn has to offer. You'll absolutely love the light, airy feeling of this place with its numerous windows, hand-carved floorboards, and high open ceiling with beams... everything your heart desires in a romantic island-style cottage! The spacious living room (with a sofa sleeper and a day bed!), fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom with tub and shower, and over-sized bedroom with a desk make this special place perfect for a honeymoon or a family gathering.

The Sunflower:

Ah, the Sunflower. My heart gave a little tug when I first saw this charming cottage! Maybe it was the clouds which were painted on the ceiling of the bedroom, or perhaps it was the airy and cheerful feeling of the small kitchen and dining area. This lovely little place has a private bathroom, a living room with a sofa sleeper... and right outside your door is your own hammock and barbecue grill. You'll absolutely love it!
