The Log Cabin Bed & Breakfast in Cedaredge, Colorado is a unique,
pioneer log style home built in 1891 as the "Lovett House,"
and is designated as a Colorado State Historic site.
The Lovett House opened its doors to the public in 1894 as the first
post office in Cedaredge, and served as a "way station" for
travelers between Delta and the Grand Mesa. In this timeless tradition,
the Log Cabin welcomes you to enjoy a truly unique and relaxing
experience.
The Log Cabin is conveniently located 20 minutes from the top of the
Grand Mesa on 2 acres of magnificent old trees (Colorado's Champion
White Ash) and garden spaces. The grounds are a sanctuary for birds and
a respite for guests.
Inside the Cabin, a large stone fireplace invites you to a warm
Colorado welcome! End your day in our hot tub gazing at the stars. Enjoy
a glass of wine or homemade cookies from the cookie jar.
The Log Cabin is a smoke free environment, and we are unable to
accommodate young children.
Rooms:
The Log Cabin has 4 large rooms, each with its own private bath.
Three have private entrances and one can accommodate a well behaved dog.
Lovett Suite:
This warm and inviting two room suite has a romantic queen size
canopy bed, antique dresser and bed stand, and bath with shower. It
has a private entrance onto the spacious patio area as well as an
entrance to the main house through the parlor.
The sunny parlor room has a wisteria framed window which looks out
onto the grounds and trees. Its ram's horn Chandelier and pictures of
the original owners compliment its comfortable, historic look. A
perfect place to read or have a glass of wine.
The Bark Room:
Step back in time in this room with its luxurious, antique style,
iron bed frame and king size mattress. An antique dresser, tea
table and rocker gives this room its country feel. It has a large
bathroom, tub and shower combination.
A private entrance with a small cloistered patio makes it perfect
for those traveling with a well behaved dog.
Birch Room:
Quaint yet luxurious, this Cape Cod style room has a queen size bed
which many guests have said to give them one of the best night's sleep
they've ever had.
An overstuffed chair and ottoman by the window beg for a good book
and a little time to enjoy it. A claw foot tub with old fashioned
shower attachments adorns the private bath.
Aspen Room:
This is our most spacious room. It has a walk-in closet, writing
room off the bedroom and a large bathroom with shower and garden
window full of blooming plants. Its locally hand carved aspen queen
size bed matches perfectly the hand hewn ceiling beams and its large
pine dresser. This warm and inviting room with its modern, western
theme is our most private.
About The Log House:
The 1½ acre site with its secluded hot tub, fire pit, sitting areas,
hammock and large deck invite you to enjoy the grounds.
A state champion white ash tree, birch, maple spruce and several
varieties of fruit trees as well as rose gardens and wildflower berms
dot the property which is only a one block walk from the main street in
town.
In the common areas, a comfy sofa, antique rocker and Morris chair
allow you to enjoy the warmth of the stone fireplace. A window
seat looks out onto the front deck and lawn.
The dining area, off the sunny yellow kitchen also sports a game
table, microwave and mini-fridge for tea and popcorn. Our guests
enjoy games and conversations in these warm spaces.
Hostesses serve a wholesome, tasty breakfast, and have been known to
enjoy wine and cheese with the guests in the late afternoon.
