Glory in this serene three acres of desert and
landscaped gardens right in the center of town!
Southwestern décor and gourmet southwest cuisine combine
to pamper and entice you to stay longer. Laurie and Bob are
educators and travelers; their eclectic taste and interests may match
your own or may spark yours!
Bedrooms are themed for the books and travel décor at
home in each. The hot tub is perfect for a soak under the brilliant
stars. Near U of A and historic downtown. Handicapped accessible
throughout with an ADA bathroom and guestroom available.
Minutes from the University of Arizona and the historic
sights of Tucson's "Old Pueblo" Historic
District, The Congenial Quail is in an easy living, central location for
exploring all of Southern
Arizona.
A short drive takes you to seasonal skiing, to the world
famous Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum,
to the charm and spiritual renewal to be found at the Kino Mission San
Xavier del Bac, or to the
futuristic adventures of the Biosphere 2 Project.
Walk to the fine shopping of the Tucson Mall or horse
racing at Rillito Downs. Take some exercise on the banks of the usually
dry Rillito River. But, mostly, soak up some of Tucson's fine sun on our
patio -- with all the comforts of The Congenial Quail right at hand.
Mexico is but an hour south; the Apache stronghold of
Cochise and Geronimo lies a few hours east; the legends and color of
Tombstone and Bisbee are two hours southeast; to the west is
sky-searching Kitt Peak Observatory; and, the finest collection of Ansel
Adam's photographic prints to be found in the world is a mere ten
minutes away.
The Innkeepers:
Laurie and Bob Haskett call The Congenial Quail home and
want to share it with you. For over twenty-five years these educators
have enjoyed a life of academics, travel, art, and an interest in and
passion for foods and their preparation.
As you set out for a day of desert adventures, Bob and
Laurie can arrange a picnic and offer options for gourmet dining when
you return.
Breakfast and Meals:
Awaken to fresh brewed coffee or a pot of tea. Have some
juice or fruit. A classic frittata or a spicy Southwestern variation
will be a perfect start to your day. You'll savor these flavors in
morning sunlight as it filters onto the Arizona room porch where your
meal is served -- right outside your room. Later, the spacious living,
dining, and game rooms offer relaxing diversions.
Lunch and dinner is available upon request and included
in your room rate are afternoon snacks & beverages.
Special meals such as gourmet, low fat, restricted and
vegetarian are also available.
