Craigbuie - "the golden hill".
Craigbuie, situated between the Falls of Dochart and Loch Tay, has been recently refurbished and provides quality accommodation with eight
bedrooms.
The guest house was built in 1884 and still retains old age qualities, traditional values and timeless charm.
Killin, an unspoilt village set in the heart of Scotland, in Breadalbane, the home of the clans Campbell, MacNab and MacGregor.
Killin is ideally situated for tourist, golfer, fisherman, hill walker, photographer... whatever your reason for coming to Scotland, we can
make your stay complete with good food and a comfortable bed.
Accommodation:
Accommodation comprises 8 bedrooms, of which 3 have private shower and 1 has a private bathroom. All have colour TV, hair dryer and tea/coffee
facilities.
The accommodation has recently been redecorated and is tastefully furnished. All rooms have central heating and all the expected facilities to
make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Also available is a drying room, cycle storage and ample car parking.
A pleasant garden is available for our guests use.
A full Scottish breakfast is provided too including vegetarian option.
Touring:
Killin is at the very centre of Scotland, the ideal base for exploring and touring in every direction.
Go west for Loch Lomond, the Hebridean Islands, Glen Coe. Go east for Aberfeldy, Pitlochry or Perth. South for Balquhidder (Rob Roy country),
the Trossachs and Stirling. North to Ben Lawers, Glen Lyon and Loch Rannoch.
There are also many interesting places to visit locally which require only moderate walking. Visit the Killin Tourist Information Centre for a
full guide. In the evening the bridge is lit and makes a very pleasant walk after dinner.
Golf:
Killin boasts its own 9 hole golf course which is scenic and demands accuracy rather than brute strength. There are very many courses within a
short drive from Killin, from championship standard 18 hole courses to other 9 hole courses like Killin. Again, there are golfing breaks available
through the guest house.
Directions:
- From Stirling travel north on the A84/A85 to the Lix Toll junction.
- Turn right onto the A827 and follow the Dochart River as it flows towards Loch Tay.
- Suddenly the waters open out into white water rapids over rock slabs, and tumble under the bridge at Killin.
- Follow the road over the bridge and into the village.
- Craigbuie is situated on the right beside the Post Office.
