About Inverness:
Most people know two things about Inverness - it's where
they speak the best English and where the Loch Ness Monster is a
neighbour.
But there is a lot more to the capital of the Highlands.
Set between the hills and the sea, and divided by the River Ness which
flows six short miles from Loch Ness to the Moray Firth, Inverness has
been a military, commercial and administrative centre for centuries.
An interesting combination of ancient and modern, it
provides today a wide range of amenities for residents and visitors
alike.
An ideal touring centre, Inverness has much to enjoy
within its own boundaries, parks, playgrounds, aquadome, fishing,
golfing and entertainment in one of the most modern Theatres in Britain.
There are excellent road, rail and air links to
Inverness and it is an ideal city to make your base whilst visiting the
Higlands.
There are historic castles, solitary walks in the
mountains, beautiful scenery, numerous distilleries to visit and of
course Loch Ness - all within easy reach of Inverness.
The City has achieved some notable accolades recently,
'Britain in Bloom', 'Scotland in Bloom', and Inverness is also in the
top ten cities in Britain visited by overseas visitors.
There is a wealth of tourist information available in
the guest house which may temp you to stay a little longer.
