The Weston House is a well known Christchurch landmark and was built
for George Weston, a prominent Christchurch Lawyer, to a design by
Architect Cecil Woods. It has been described in respected publications
as the finest Neo-Georgian building in New Zealand and carries the
coveted Historic Places Trust Category 1 listing. The House was
constructed over a two year period by English craftsmen and was
completed in 1924.
George Weston, a gentleman of means, employed servants and it is the
Servants' Quarters that our guest rooms are to be found. An exceptional,
quality built house in its day the Weston House has been extensively
restored and tastefully refurbished, so that today Len and Stephanie can
offer you luxurious and elegant rooms that combine classical style and
antiques with modern comfort and convenience.
