Historic self-contained two bedroom country cottage
& gardens for your exclusive use.
Fine accommodation - a truly New Zealand experience.
Situated half way between Queenstown and Arrowtown (12 minutes drive to
either), directly below Coronet Peak Ski Area, Pear Tree Cottage is the
original farm cottage for Dalefield farm, the whole area is now known as
"Dalefield". Our cozy historic cottage (circa 1870's) is almost
the size of an average house. It was virtually derelict, now lovingly
restored and filled with rural "Kiwi" memorabilia.
Breakfast - whenever it suits - includes fresh local produce, cereals,
muffins, croissants or a cooked selection if desired. We will cook you a
sumptuous dinner and join you in the candlelit "farmhouse"
kitchen or leave you to a romantic evening alone. Alternatively there
are oven 100 restaurants within 12 minutes drive.
Centrally heated throughout plus a huge open log fire. The natural
textures and rustic feeling just folds around you.
Guests have exclusive use of the cottage (and a stocked pantry). Single
party booking in two bedrooms, which cater for up to five people. Total
privacy - we will pamper you as much or as little as you desire. We live
in a separate cottage 50 meters away.
Set in eight acres the cottage is surrounded by a large well developed
garden, mature trees and sweeping lawn. Barbecue, Jacuzzi and petanque
are adjacent to the extensive deck which is cluttered with dozens of
flower filled pots, rustic containers and hanging baskets creating an
"outdoor living room". One can sit on an old barbers chair on
the deck and check out the snow on Coronet Peak Ski Area which fills the
view to the north - so close you can be on the chairlifts 15 minutes
after walking out the door.
Your Hosts:
We are Terry & Erina McLean. We have lived in the
district for 30 years. Our separate cottage is 50 meters away - close
enough to be at your beck and call, far enough away to ensure your
privacy.
Let us pick you up, arrange fishing, jet boating, skiing
(we are experienced skiers, like a guide?), flight/ coach to Milford, or
any other activities. We can suggest itineraries and arrange any
bookings.
