Creating a new category of accommodations for Caribbean
visitors, The Deep Blue View has opened on the island of Bonaire as a
Bed and Breakfast Resort.
Catering mostly to scuba divers, snorkelers, free
divers, kayakers and other aquatic enthusiasts, The Deep Blue View is a
luxury Bed and Breakfast with only four guestrooms that is also suitable
for those seeking nothing more than 100% relaxation.
The Deep Blue View is a large, luxury villa surrounding
a tropical patio with large swimming pool where healthy, gourmet
breakfasts are served each morning and guests can relax in privacy any
time.
The large patio area also features a second story
sunbathing deck with lots of shaded hammocks hung below it so guests can
recover from all the ocean activities the island has to offer.
At night, the sunbathing deck becomes an observation
deck for viewing the star studded night skies just 12° off the equator.
On most clear nights, Pete can be convinced to bring out
their 8" Meade telescope so guests can get a deeper view of the
incredible variety of stars, nebulae and galaxies.
Dive packages are available at an additional cost. If
you are interested in one, please contact us for further information.
The Amazing Views:
From our pool deck you have an almost 300 degree view of
island and ocean.
From the northwest through the south to the northeast
you see sunsets in the evening, the leeward coast line from Washington
Park to Pink Beach, downtown Kralendijk and the uninhabited island of
Klein Bonaire, then beyond all that, the deep blue Caribbean.
At night, from the pool deck, or up on the observation
deck, you can see the magnificent Milky Way, from Orion in the winter to
Scorpio in the summer.
Then, as you explore Bonaire's underwater National Park
you can see and swim with the undersea life of the deep blue Caribbean.
Rooms:
Guest rooms at the Deep Blue View all have air
conditioning, but also have high ceilings with fans for those who prefer
a more natural, tropical environment without air-conditioning.
The villa is recently built in a modern hacienda style
with crisp white walls and Italian tile floors.
Furnishings are simple but cozy and friendly, with
specially made wood bed frames, headboards and night tables featuring a
"louvered" design.
Guests have a choice of either king or twin-sized beds.
Damselfish Suite:
1 to 3 persons. 1 king bed or 2 twin beds plus a
private loft for reading or a sleeping area for one, sitting area,
wardrobe and private bath with shower.
Angelfish Room:

closets, writing desk, sitting area and shared bath with private sink.

Villa Design:
Our four spacious bedrooms all have baths for guests
that open on to a large patio and pool area. From the pool and patio
which faces south, you have sun, shade and a "deep blue view"
all day long.
The design of the villa is "L" shaped with one
leg containing the guests rooms and the other leg the owner's residence.
The large open patio is surrounded by lush landscaping
that encloses the pool and observation deck for maximum privacy.

About Bonaire:
Location:
30 Miles from Curacao, 50 miles north of Venezuela and
86 miles east of Aruba, outside of the Caribbean hurricane belt (12 N
latitude; 68 W longitude).
Size:
24 miles long by 3-7 miles wide. Highest point is
Brandaris Hill, 784 feet.
Climate:
Yearly average temperature is 82 F (27.8 C); water
temperature of 80 F (26.7 C); 17-20 knot trade winds; lots of
sunshine. Bring sunscreen.
Scuba Divers:
The superb underwater visibility and reef life on
Bonaire offers the diver some of the best year-round diving in the
world. The reef crest is close to shore and in relatively shallow water.
Much of the interesting sea life for the Scuba diver is in 30-60 feet of
water. There are also underwater canyons in the drop-off that will take
you down to the sandy bottom at 190 feet.
Free Divers and Snorkelers:
Bonaire is one of the best sites in the world for Free
Diving, yet it has been relatively undiscovered. You don't have to be a
certified Scuba diver or elite swimmer to enjoy Free Diving.
Those who enjoy snorkeling need only learn basic skills
of the surface dive and underwater swimming to begin free diving. Basic
equipment for the Free Diver is a mask, fins, snorkel, and weight belt.
Beginner free divers can easily explore the shallows
(5-10 feet) and see abundant coral and fish life. If you are a
"Blue Water Free Diver", the "Deep Blue Water" is
found just past the drop-off, only 100 yards off shore.
Athletes In Training:
Bonaire is the perfect place to train for Open Water
Swimmers, Masters Swimmers, Ocean Kayakers, Bicycle Riders, Runners and
Tri-athletes, and The Deep Blue View Bed and Breakfast is the perfect place to
rest and relax during your training.
Start your day out with a nutritious breakfast then take
in the beautiful island of Bonaire while you train. Bonaire has
uncrowded paved and unimproved coastal roads that are great for the
bicycle rider/runner. "Pink Beach" is ideal for swimming an
uninterrupted 3.5 miles, parallel to a pink coral beach. Then bike and
run the coastline road that goes by "Pink Beach".
Several times a year there are events such as the
International Triathlon, Citizen Fun Race and Annual Mountain Bike
Challenge that are held on Bonaire. Special dietary needs can be
provided.
Your Hosts:
Your hosts, Pete & Shannon left the rat race behind
to do their dream on one of the planet's most beautiful natural jewels,
the island of Bonaire.
They are partners in life, as well as diving partners.
They have made Bonaire their new home to dive, do art, star gaze, and
share their experience and enthusiasm with their guests.
