Your Mayan Adventure:
Contemporary with Moses leading the Israelites to the Promised Land,
the Mayan people created a civilization which, for the splendour of its
architecture, matches anything from ancient Egypt.
For 2,000 years this civilization grew and prospered, reaching its
peak about 9OO AD... at which time it collapsed, utterly, for reasons
still not entirely understood.
But its legacy remains... a fascinating spectacle of ancient cities
across the Yucatan peninsula, where the ruins of magnificent pyramids
and temples can be explored, and their atmosphere savoured.
In Ka'an is strategically located to be your base for exploring the
ruins. Easy day trips will let you experience such famous locations as
Chichen-ltza, Uxmal, and Kabah.
We'll help you plan your trip, whether by excursion bus or your own
car. We'll provide you with bus times and highway routes, and, at a
modest cost, a box lunch to sustain you. Also we can equip you with
literature about the sites of your choice.
