Villa a Sesta is in ancient Chianti wine village which has been given
a new lease of life.
The owner of the winery Villa a Sesta have renovated the entire Borgo
and Casa Palei houses in the regional style. The whole hamlet has been
slowly and carefully restored in true rustic Tuscan style.
The furniture is part antique, part modern and has been chosen
specifically for the Tuscan country setting. The pictures along with the
beautiful Italian ceramic tiles are examples of tasteful interior
decoration.
All apartments have a washing machine, central heating and there is
at least 1 bathroom for every 2 bedrooms.
Two well kept pools (6 x 12 m) with beautiful views of the
vineyards and olive groves are enticing. A play ground is of the kids
disposal.
In the village, there is also the top class restaurant called 'Bottega
del Trenta'. A few years ago, this restaurant became extremely well
known. Since then, locals and foreigners alike have been savouring the
local Tuscan cuisine with much delight.
The Borgo's cafeteria offers, beside beverages, small plates for
those looking for something a little lighter.
The village is a lively mixture of holiday guests and local
inhabitants. The village is also a well known starting point for biking
tours.
Casa Palei:
Detached house, on the outskirts of the village, with a beautiful
view over the vineyards towards Siena. Large courtyard with shaded
seating area for all the apartments. There are 3 in the main house and
one in the neighboring outhouse.

Cooking School:
La Bottega del 30 is located at Villa a Sesta and has the honor of
being the only restaurant in Chianti to receive a Michelin star.
The restaurant offers traditional Tuscan cuisine in an authentic
setting. Its chef, Helene Stoquelet, and her husband, Franco Camelia,
also operate the Tuscan cooking school where you can learn the ancient
culinary techniques of the women of Chianti.
Lessons are taught in the school's modern kitchen with individual
cooking stations. There's also a traditional Tuscan kitchen with a wood
burning oven.
Classes are limited to 8 students and are hands on, with lessons
focusing on the successive stages of a meal.

- Exit Valdarno.
- Then follow signs to Montevarchi.
- When in Montevarchi follow signs to Gaiole in Chianti and Siena.
- Through Gaiole towards Siena.
- Out of Gaiole 2nd left to Castelnuovo Berardenga.
- Follow this road to Villa a Sesta.
