La Residenza dello Scoiattolo is in the middle
of the Anzasca Valley, little more than 10 kilometers from Macugnaga, on
the slopes of Monte Rosa.
Perfect for skiers in winter and for mountain walkers (or simply
people loving nature) in summer, this is a lovely part of the world,
where Italy meets Switzerland.
The B&B provides friendly, comfortable accommodation. Set away
from other houses, the lodge is nonetheless close to the village,
providing a winning mix of privacy and convenience. The owners are on
hand to help with any questions or needs, and the accommodation provides
a charming, relaxing and very beautiful holiday base in Italy.
The two-storey villa sits within its own garden, enveloped by a huge
wisteria, and with the woods nearby. The first floor is entirely given
over to the Bed & Breakfast: there are 2 bedrooms, 1 double room
with a wide terrace with a view on Monte Rosa, and 1 single room. In
addition, there is a bathroom exclusively for the use of the B&B, a
passage room and a second, wider solarium terrace at the back of the
house.
A generous and varied continental breakfast is served downstairs each
morning, by the fireplace in the sitting room. On this floor you will
find the kitchen and a second bathroom with shower to be shared with the
owners. The house has a distinctly Alpine feel, with the wood cladding
of the building complemented by wooden walls, floors and ceilings, with
wooden beams to complete the mountain ambience. The owners speak French
and English.
Things To See and Do:
Anzasca Valley is located in direction of the east slope of wonderful
Monte Rosa massif, the widest and highest in the Alps, an immense
cathedral of ice and rocks, getting up to 4,635 meters high. Ideal place
for walkers and climbers and for winter sports, such as alpine and cross
country skiing, but also for skating on ice and other less traditional
sports such as telemark skiing, snowboarding or heliskiing.
A feature of the place is the Walser Community, still keeping an
ancient culture and language alive since ages. Their origin is German
and is still well preserved by the inhabitants of Macugnaga with
particular care and affection.
Worth visiting in the Valley, you can find an ancient Lime tree
(dating back to XIII Century) at Staffa (a part of Macugnaga) and the
Gold Mine of la Guia at Borca (also part of Macugnaga). The mine is no
longer used, but it has been the greatest in Italy and you can visit it
helped by a guide.
In certain periods of the year, in 2 places of the Valley, Bannio
Anzino (above Pontegrande) and Calasca, it is possible to see the
Traditional Soldiers Parade, not real soldiers repeating ancient
traditions since XVII° Century, accompanied by band concerts, showing
how good the inhabitants are in various fields including music and
folklore.
Directions:
Malpensa International Airport is just an hour's drive away from La
Residenza dello Scoiattolo. You take the Motorway A8 direction Sesto
Calende, then Gravellona and drive ahead even after the A8 ends follow
the roads to Domodossola up to Piedimulera.
Once left the main road heading to Simplon Pass at Piedimulera, take
to Macugnaga and start going up passing trhough Castiglione, Molini and
finally getting to Pontegrande (of Bannio Anzino).
There is a bridge in front of Bar Posta and the Bank. La Residenza
dello Scoiattolo is the first house across the bridge on the left.
For those arriving by train. You can get to Domodossola in 1 hour 20
minutes from Milan. A regular Coach services starting in front of the
Railway Station will take you up to Macugnaga, but it has a stop just in
front of Bar Posta at Pontegrande, very close to La Residenza dello
Scoiattolo.

La Residenza dello Scoiattolo (La Résidence de l'écureuil) est
presque à la moitié de la Valle Anzasca, à peu plus que 10 km de
Macugnaga, la zone du Monte Rosa, une place pour ceux qui pratiquent le
ski en hiver et les excursionnistes et ceux qui aiment simplement la
nature en été.
La position de la maison est isolée, mais, en même temps prés du
pays, offre une atmosphère très particulière qui s'ajoute à la
chaleur et disponibilité de ceux qui vous accueillent.
Il s'agit d'une maison de campagne à deux étages, dont la façade
est enveloppée par une grande glycine. Le premier étage est entièrement
destiné au Bed & Breakfast et est composé par 2 chambres à
coucher, 1 avec un lit à deux places avec une grande terrasse e vue sur
le Monte Rosa et 1 avec un lit à une place. Il y a aussi des zones de
passages, une salle de bain et une seconde terrasse encore plus grande
que la première.
Au rez-de-chaussée on peut trouver la salle du petit déjeuner, le séjour
avec la cheminée, la cuisine et une seconde salle de bain avec douche,
à partager avec les propriétaires.
La maison est entièrement couverte en bois qui n'a pas été traité
suite au choix « biologique » des propriétaires. Le bois est partout,
il couvre les murs avec de lames, plancher sous vos pieds et au plafond,
avec des poutres de bois à compléter l'aspect montagnard.

La Valle Anzasca est située auprès de le coteau est du merveilleux
massif du Monte Rosa, le plus grand des Alpes pour l'amplitude et la
hauteur, une immense cathédral de glace et de rocher, qui arrive jusqu'à
4.635m. de hauteur. Une zone d'excursions et de montées, de ski de
descente et de fond et d'autre sports de montagne.
A Macugnaga on trouve les traces d'une culture passée dont les
Walsers, un peuple d'origine allemand, sont les dépositaires. Cette
culture est gardée aujourd'hui par les habitants avec affection et soin.
Il faut voir un arbre, un tilleul, du XIII° siècle, et la minière
d'or à Borca (petit pays auprès de Macugnaga) et plusieurs petit
choses qui enrichit une visite à la vallée.
Si ont reste à Bannio ou à Calasca, pendent le mois d'Août, il ne
faut pas perdre la parade de la Milice Traditionnelle , crée au XVII°
siècle et les concerts de la fanfare.

La Residenza dello Scoiattolo befindet sich inmitten der Valle
Anzasca, ungefähr 10 km vor Macugnaga im Monte Rosa-Gebiet. Ideal für
leidenschaftliche Skifahrer im Winter, und Wanderfreunde oder einfach
nur Liebhaber der Natur im Sommer.
Die Abgelegenheit des Hauses, verbunden jedoch mit der unmittelbaren
Nähe zum Ort machen, zusammen mit der besonders herzlichen
Gastfreundschaft der Gastgeber, das besondere Flair aus.
Es handelt sich um ein Einzelhaus über 2 Stockwerke, dessen Fassade
von einer Glyzinie bewachsen ist. Das obere Stockwerk steht vollständig
für Bed & Breakfast-Gäste zur Verfügung und besteht aus zwei
Schlafzimmern (1 Doppelzimmer mit großer Terrasse und Blick auf den
Monte Rosa sowie 1 Einzelzimmer), Flur, Badezimmer für die Gäste und
einer Sonnenterrasse.
Im Erdgeschoss befinden sich der Frühstücksraum mit Kamin, die Küche
sowie ein zweites Bad mit Dusche, das Sie mit den Eigentümern teilen.
Das Haus ist komplett mit unbehandeltem Holz verkleidet (eine "biologische"
Wahl der Eigentümer): Wände, Fußböden und mit Balken durchzogene
Decken.

Die Valle Anzasca liegt am Osthang des wunderschönen Monte Rosa-Massivs.
Das Monte Rosa-Massiv ist nach Ausmaßen und Höhe das weitläufigste
der Alpen, man möchte fast sagen "eine riesige Kathedrale aus Eis
und Fels", deren Spitzen sich bis zu 4.635 Meter erheben. Das
Gebiet ist ideal für lange Spaziergänge, Wanderungen und Klettertouren
sowie für alle Arten von Wintersport: Langlauf und Abfahrt, aber auch
Schlittschuhfahren und weniger verbreitete Sportarten wie Paragliding
und Heli-Skiing gehören dazu.
Charakteristisch ist die Gemeinde der Walser, Hüterin einer antiken
Kultur und Sprache germanischen Ursprungs, die noch heute von den
Bewohnern des Ortes mit großer Sorgfalt und Zuneigung bewahrt und
gepflegt werden.
Besondere Beachtung gebührt der über 700 Jahre alten Linde in dem
Ort Staffa, die eine wichtige Rolle in der Volkstradition spielt, sowie
der Goldmine "Miniera d'oro della Guia" in Borca (Ortsteil von
Macugnaga). Auch wenn sie heute nicht mehr in Betrieb ist, so war sie
doch die größte Goldmine Italiens und kann besichtigt werden. Der
vorgegebene Besichtigungsweg ist besonders interessant im Hinblick auf
die Landschaft und die mineralogische Beschaffenheit; des weiteren
liegen die gegen Mitte des 14. Jahrhunderts erbaute Chiesa vecchia und
der nahegelegene Friedhof am Weg; letzterer dokumentiert die Geschichte
der Opfer, die die Besteigung des Monte Rosa im Laufe der Jahre
gefordert hat.
Vor allem im August kann man in 2 Orten der Valle Anzasca, Bannio und
Calasca, die Paraden der traditionellen zu Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts
gegründeten Armee und Konzerte besuchen, die die vielseitige Begabung
der Bewohner für Musik und Folklore unter Beweis stellen.
Anfahrt:
Der Flughafen Mailand Malpensa ist nur eine Autostunde von der
Residenza dello Scoiattolo entfernt. Man fährt auf der Autobahn A8
Richtung Sesto Calende, dann weiter bis Gravellona und folgt von dort
nach der Mautstelle der Schnellstraße (Superstrada) nach Domodossola.
Die Ausfahrt (noch vor Domodossola) heisst Piedimulera.
In Piedimulera abfahren und der Beschilderung nach Macugnaga folgen:
jetzt geht es in die Berge durch die Orte Castiglione und Molini, bis
Sie in Pontegrande (Ortsteil von Bannio Anzino) ankommen.
Gegenüber der Bar Posta und neben der Bank (linker Hand aus
Piedimulera kommend) befindet sich eine Brücke. Die Residenza dello
Scoiattolo ist das erste Haus auf der linken Seite jenseits der Brücke.
Anreise mit dem Zug: von Mailand nach Domodossola fährt man ca. 1
Std. 20 Min.. Vom Bahnhof fährt regelmäßig ein Bus nach Macugnaga,
der direkt vor der Bar Posta in Pontegrande hält - also wenige Meter
von der Residenza dello Scoiattolo entfernt.

La Residenza dello Scoiattolo è situata a metà della Valle Anzasca,
a poco più di 10 km da Macugnaga, la zona del Monte Rosa, un posto
adatto agli appassionati dello sci in inverno ed agli escursionisti o
semplicemente agli amanti della natura in estate.
La posizione isolata della casa, ma, allo stesso tempo vicina al
paese, crea un fascino particolare a cui si aggiunge il calore e la
disponibilità di chi accoglie.
Si tratta di una casa singola a 2 piani, la cui facciata è avvolta
da un grande glicine. Il primo piano è interamente dedicato al Bed
& Breakfast e si compone di 2 camere da letto, 1 doppia con ampia
terrazza e vista sul Monte Rosa ed 1 singola.
Vi sono inoltre una zona di passaggio, un bagno a disposizione ed una
seconda terrazza-solarium.
Al piano terra si trova la sala per la colazione con camino, cucina
ed il secondo bagno con doccia, da condividere con i proprietari.
La casa è interamente rivestita in legno grezzo non trattato per
scelta "biologica" dei proprietari. Il legno ricopre
interamente le pareti, i pavimenti ed il soffitto con travi a vista.
Info Aggiuntive:
La Valle Anzasca si colloca alle pendici della parete est dello
splendido Massiccio del Monte Rosa, la più vasta delle alpi per
sviluppo in larghezza ed altezza, quasi un'immensa cattedrale di
ghiaccio e di roccia, che spinge le sue vette fino a 4.635 metri di
altezza. Zona caratteristica per passeggiate, escursioni e scalate e di
sport invernali, come lo sci alpino e di fondo soprattutto, ma anche il
pattinaggio su ghiaccio, oltre a sport meno tradizionali come il
parapendio e l'eliski.
Caratteristica della zona è la comunità Walser, depositaria di una
cultura e di una lingua antica, di matrice germanica, ancora oggi
conservata e coltivata dagli abitanti del luogo con grande cura e
affetto.
Degne di particolare attenzione, sono il tiglio plurisecolare, ricco
di significato per la tradizione popolare, vecchio di oltre 7 secoli e
situato a Staffa e la Miniera d'Oro della Guia, situata a Borca (fraz.
di Macugnaga). Sebbene oggi la miniera non sia più attiva, è stata la
più grande miniera d'oro d'Italia, ed è visitabile, con percorso
guidato, interessante dal punto di vista paesaggistico e mineralogico ed
inoltre la Chiesa vecchia, costruita verso la metà del XIV° secolo ed
il vicino cimitero che raccoglie la storia delle vittime che le scalate
al monte Rosa hanno provocato nel corso degli anni.
In alcuni periodi soprattutto in agosto, in 2 località della Valle
Anzasca, Bannio e Calasca, è possibile ammirare le parate delle milizie
tradizionali, fondate agli inizi del XVII° secolo e concerti bandistici,
che mostrano, oltre alla versatilità degli abitanti in varie attività
musicali e folcloristiche.
Come Arrivare:
L'aeroporto di Malpensa è soltanto ad un'ora d'auto dalla Residenza
dello Scoiattolo. Basta prendere l'autostrada A8 in direzione Sesto
Calende, poi proseguire per Gravellona e quindi andare oltre il casello
seguendo la superstrada che prosegue per Domodossola ed uscire a
Piedimulera.
Una volta arrivati a Piedimulera e lasciata la strada principale che
prosegue verso il Passo del Sempione, prendete la direzione Macugnaga ed
iniziate la salita passando attraverso Castiglione, Molini e quindi
arrivando a Pontegrande (fraz. Di Bannio Anzino).
C'è un ponte di fronte al Bar Posta ed a fianco della Banca. La
Residenza dello Scoiattolo è proprio al di là del ponte, la prima casa
a sinistra.
Per chi arrivasse col treno. Si giunge a Domodossola in circa 1 ora
20 minuti da Milano. Un servizio regolare di Pulman collega la stazione
a Macugnaga e ferma proprio di fronte al Bar Posta di Pontegrande a
pochi metri dalla Residenza dello Scoiattolo.
