The Structure:

Bed and Breakfast San Matteo is found in the historical center of Lecce, five minutes on foot from the train and bus station. Its situated near the most important Baroques Monuments of the city.

The Rooms:

Bed and Breakfast San Matteo is recently completely restructured. We have furnished two rooms, one double with loft and a twin. The two bathrooms are shared with the other guests. Every room has a television and parking is possible.

The Breakfast:

Breakfast is an Italian type of breakfast. The breakfast includes: coffee, cappuccino, milk, butter, tea, fruit juice, yogurt, biscuits, croissants, brioches, plum cake, bread, jams and "nutella!".

Families:

About Lecce:

Lecce, Chief town of the province, is the spiritual, cultural and economic center of the Salento. The city is situated to 11 kilometers from the Adriatic coast and to 23 from that ionic.

By Train:

By Airplane:

The nearest airport is the Airport in Brindisi and it's far around 50 kms from Lecce, connected with Rome and Milano with Alitalia and Airone; it is attainable from London Stanstead with a comfort flight Ryanair. From the airport It's possibile to reach Lecce with the bus shuttle but if you will want, with a small reimbursement it spent, we will come to take you.

La Struttura:

Il bed and breakfast "San Matteo" si trova in una posizione ottimale per chi vuole fare una vacanza a Lecce, in Puglia, in Italia. Puo' essere raggiunto facilmente con l'automobile ed e' comodamente servito dai mezzi di trasporto pubblico: infatti in cinque minuti a piedi si raggiunge la stazione FS Il soggiorno al "B&B San Matteo " prevede il pernottamento in camera con il servizio di prima colazione.

Le Camere:

Il beb San Matteo e' stato tutto recentemente ristrutturato. Abbiamo arredato due camere, una doppia con soppalco e una matrimoniale. Ogni camera e' dotata di televisione e di possibilità di parcheggio. la cucina è a completa disposizione degli ospiti con tutto l'occorrente per non sentire la mancanza di casa propria. Piano cottura, lavello, microonde,frigo e freezer, tostapane. La colazione e' ben assortita con: caffe', cappuccino, latte, burro, the, succhi di frutta, biscotti, croissants, brioches, plum cake, fette biscottate, marmellate e "nutella"!

Gli Orari:

Normalmente l'ingresso alle camere per il soggiorno e' previsto dopo le ore 14.00, ma e' possible comunque effettuare il check in tra le ore 8:00 e le ore 14:00 per ritirare le chiavi e depositare i bagagli. Il check out e' previsto entro le ore 10:30. Possono comunque essere concordati orari diversi, specificandolo nelle richieste di prenotazione. Assieme alle chiavi della camera forniamo anche le chiavi di ingresso all'appartamento, permettendo cosi' ai nostri ospiti di essere totalmente autonomi ed indipendenti.

Lecce, Capoluogo della provincia, è centro spirituale, culturale ed economico del Salento. La città è situata a 11 chilometri dalla costa adriatica ed a 23 da quella ionica.

Il Capoluogo del Salento vanta un patrimonio monumentale che a buon diritto forma oggetto della più appassionata ammirazione da parte di chiunque vi capiti e che poche città possono offrire.

Patrimonio per la massima parte costituito da edifici sorti tra la fine del '500, quando lo stile rinascimentale stava per sfociare nel barocco, ed i principi del '700, quando il barocco accennava a forme di maggiore compostezza. È durante tale periodo che Lecce si arricchisce, per il mecenatismo della Chiesa, dei suoi più fastosi edifici ecclesiastici, nella cui costruzione maestri ed artigiani, gli uni nell'ideare, gli altri nell'eseguire, hanno gareggiato per genialità e forza creativa, dando ad ogni nuova costruzione un'impronta inconfondibile di originalità, anche se talvolta esuberante. Sorsero così i complessi di Piazza del Duomo col Palazzo del Seminario, l'Episcopio, la Cattedrale e la Torre Campanaria, la Basilica del Rosario, le Chiese di S. Chiara, S. Matteo, le Grazie e la Basilica di S. Croce, che costituisce il più importante monumento dell'epoca.

Non si creda, però, quando si sono visti gli anzidetti monumenti, che si sia esaurito ogni interesse artistico nei riguardi di Lecce. È questa una città che ad ogni piè sospinto offre al visitatore la sorpresa di un portale, di un loggiato, di un archetto, di una bifora di deliziosa fattura e quasi sempre arieggiante lo stesso stile che si ripete e si rinnova come un '«leit motiv» musicale, nella sinfonia di forme e di espressioni che gli artisti di altri tempi seppero comporre.

È una specie di ricamo che si adagia su tutta la città con la leggerezza di un merletto.

Oltre ad essere ricca di monumenti Lecce è anche capoluogo commerciale del Salento. Le vie del centro sono ricche di negozi e botteghe dove si trova sia la griffe che il capo vintage nei negozi dell'usato.

Negli ultimi anni la Città ha visto un forte sviluppo di locali notturni che si susseguono l'uno affianco all'altro nelle viuzze del centro storico.Infatti i giovani e non che gli affollano tutte le sere hanno dato vita a un fenomeno che sta avendo una grossa risonanza: la "Movida".

Infatti come a Barcellona si può far mattina presto nei locali tra un bicchiere di Primitivo o Negramaro e una birra scura, ballando sui tavoli e deliziando il palato con le specialità salentine come i pezzetti di cavallo e i turcinieddhi. Arrivare:

In Auto:

Venendo dall'Autostrada A-14 prendere l'uscita Bari Nord e proseguire per la superstrada Brindisi-Lecce fino ad arrivare al capoluogo. Per chi proviene da Taranto conviene in ogni caso raggiungere Brindisi e da lì scendere per Lecce perché la strada è più scorrevole. All'ingresso di Lecce seguite le indicazioni per la Stazione Ferroviaria, vi troveremo noi.

In Treno:

La stazione di Lecce è comodamente collegata tramite Eurostar e Intercity Notte con Roma, Milano, Torino, Trieste. Per le offerte Trenitalia clicca qui. Se arriverete in treno verremo a prendervi, è il minimo che possiamo fare.

In Aereo:

L'aeroporto più vicino è l' Aeroporto di Brindisi e dista circa 50 km da Lecce, collegato con Roma e Milano tramite Alitalia e Airone; è raggiungibile da London Stanstead con un comodo volo Ryanair. Dall'aereoporto è possibile raggiungere Lecce con il bus navetta ma se vorrete, con un piccolo rimborso spese, verremo noi a prendervi.
