What To See and Do:
We are just a short drive from beautiful Portofino, of jet-set fame,
with its exclusive designer shops, and the lovely seaside resorts of
Rapallo, and Santa Margherita Ligure.
In the other direction, are the five villages of the "Cinque
Terre", famous for the wonderful panoramic walks between each one,
and also for their delicious wine. All of these places can be visited by
regular boat service.
Genoa, which is the main town of the area is 1 hour by car. Genoa has
a wonderful medieval center with narrow twisting streets and excellent
museums. Also in part of the old port, where once the cotton, coffee and
other exotic merchandise was stored, you can now wine, dine and be
entertained by musicians while sipping a glass of excellent Italian
wine. You can also visit the famous aquarium or simply just sit and
watch the world go by!
Watching the world go by is a popular Italian pastime which you can
do nearly anywhere!!
Going further afield, Lucca and Pisa are of course, worth a visit.
Both Florence and France are approximately a 2 hour drive and either can
be visited in a day.
Right on the doorstep, in fact, passing the gate, is a mountain bike
trail and a five minute walk brings you to stables, where you can hire
horses and explore the immediate area on horseback. You can do the same
thing on foot of course.
There are many excellent restaurants from simple (and very
inexpensive) trattorias, where you can sample typical dishes from the
area, to very sophisticated restaurants, all close to hand.
How To Reach Us:
I will send you a map with your booking confirmation.
A car is really necessary though as we are in the country, but there
is limited public transport available. The motorway exit is Chiavari,
just south of Genoa.
