Experience the wonderful pleasures of staying in Friuli Venezia
Giulia at B&B Famiglia McCoy Moreale.
While staying with us, you will stay in our three storey family home
which is of typical Friulian architecture.
The house has undergone many restorations. Initially a barn and
stall, the house was slowly transformed into Edi's, my husband, birth
home and over the past 27 years we have restored the house conserving
the typical and original aspects of Friulian family homes.
The floors and walls have been preserved, just as they were in the
past when other guests visited throughout the history of our home. The
floors and walls create a welcoming of their own. Additionally, there
are many antique pieces of family furniture that have been lovingly
restored and furnish the bed and breakfast and the private section of the home.
There is private parking in the courtyard and city mountain bikes for
excursions. In back of the house we have a large flower garden with
hammocks, swings, and lounging chairs for relaxing and where breakfast
is served when the weather permits.
The vineyard and vegetable garden are my husband’s pride. He makes
his own wine and during harvest season guests are welcome to watch or
give a hand in the wine making. At the same time, guest have the
opportunity to learn all about homemade wines while tasting fresh
squeezed grape juice or “ribolla” (a slightly fermented grape
juice… not yet wine). Edi is happy to offer fresh vegetables to you
for a good salad or a glass of wine to enjoy while relaxing in the
garden or on the balcony after a long day of sightseeing.
The city bus also stops conveniently in front of the house.
Rooms:
The bedrooms in the bed and breakfast are spacious and bright with single beds
that can be joined to make queen size beds. There is one single room

view of the front courtyard and one double room with a view of the rear
flower garden and vineyard. Additional beds are available to be added in
case of children.
There is one shared bath with shower and a fully furnished kitchen
with gas stove and oven, microwave, fridge and all the needed for
cooking.

About Friuli Venezia Giulia:
Friuli Venezia Giulia is a small region in the extreme north east of
Italy that borders with Austria to the north and Slovenia to the east.
Despite its small size it can meet all needs. Sea and mountains, sun
and snow, city and countryside, entertainment and culture, sport and
relaxation… all within reach. Friuli is enclosed by an arch of lofty
mountains to the north and to the south by the warm waters of the
Adriatic Sea.
Stretches of green fields succeed each other rising up the slopes of
the pre-Alpine heights and continue as far as the Dolomites, that limit
the horizon: a route of ascent, opposed to the one followed by the
watercourses that in the course of the centuries have dug their way
through peaks to the sea. The peaks are just over one hundred kilometres
from the coast. This location makes Friuli’s climate and indeed its
geology and soil unique for its temperate meteorological conditions
which favour the vast production of wines and many typical products.
Sightseeing and Activities:
Friuli Venezia Giulia is an extraordinary region which offers
numerous itineraries for those visiting. Rich in historical events and
nature this region offers a vast calendar of appointments all year round
for those interested in culture, museums, art shows, theatre, winter and
summer sport, open-air festivals of all kinds featuring typical foods,
music, dancing and much more, wine tasting in wineries, sightseeing in
cities and towns famous for archaeological ruins dating back to the
invasions of the Longobards, Celts, Romans and Venetians.
Throughout the year there are food and wine festivals open to the
public where guests can taste typical dishes and learn about regional
cuisine from famous chefs or listen to folk music while watching dancers
dance in traditional costume.
If nature and sports is you interest, you can go camping, bird
watching, mountain climbing, sky diving, skiing or hiking in the Alps
one day and the next go swimming, windsurfing, sailing or kayaking the
next. What ever your interest you can find it in our region and we will
be happy to help you organize your holiday sending you brochures of
interest and information you may request.
