Welcome... Willkommen...
Benvenuto...
holiday in the heart of Lucca, offering comfortable rooms in harmony
with the medieval spirit of the town.
It is a guest house located in the historical centre of the town, in
one of the most beautiful and elegant areas within the sixteenth century
town walls.
As soon as you enter the reception hall you sense the charm of
Lucca's historic homes. All of the rooms show features of the nineteenth
century architecture - delicate decorations are painted on most
chandeliered ceilings, and the floors are decorated with wonderfully
coloured and ornately patterned tiles.
The building is opposite the church of San Micheletto and is just a
two minute walk away from the Orto Botanico (Lucca's botanical garden)
and from the famous town walls.
Da Elisa alle Sette Arti is housed in a large nineteenth century
building - sun lit and decorated with art deco furniture - found in the
eastern part of town.
Lucca is a fascinating town to explore. From Porta Elisa one reaches
the town centre through the charming Piazza San Micheletto - where many
artistic and musical performances take place - along Villa Bottini -
Elisa Baciocchi (Napoleon's sister) residence - down through the
marvellous Porta San Gervasio, a relic of a second wall around the town,
along Via dei Fossi, and farther down to Piazza Santa Maria Bianca.
Accommodation:
Accommodation is offered in single, double and triple rooms, and you
may choose to stay on a bed and breakfast basis should you wish - this
is provided by the bar below the building.
Da Elisa is what is known in Italy as an 'affitacamere' - you are
'renting' the rooms on a nightly basis as opposed to staying in a hotel,
and the rooms are not en-suite. In this case there are three bathrooms,
all with shower, for six bedrooms. The house also has a lovely kitchen
which is shared with the guests of the other rooms.
Parking:
There is public parking downstairs (free parking outside the walls is
just 100 metres away), and you are able to hire bikes and rollerblades
either by the hour or for a full day - the ideal way to explore Lucca.
About Lucca:
Lucca is the most wonderful small town!
Its famous walls enclose a place that can be wandered or pedalled
with ease yet remains full of secrets. One of Italy's finest mediaeval
treasures, the centre is relatively unspoilt and is sprinkled with
palazzi, towers and almost countless splendid churches.
The surrounding hills produce some excellent wines and arguably the
finest olive oil anywhere, whilst the beaches and nightlife are but a
small hop away.
On the third Sunday (and preceding Saturday) of each month there is a
large antiques market centred around Piazza Antelminelli and Piazza San
Giusto. On the last Sunday (and preceding Saturday) of the month there
is an arts and crafts market in the same area. Lucca's ‘ordinary'
market is held along Via dei Bacchettoni every Wednesday and Saturday
morning.
In common with many Italian towns, most of Lucca's shops will remain
closed between lunchtime and around four o'clock. Wednesday is a common
closing day and many places in town may well also be closed on Monday
mornings.

Meter vom Haus entfernt.
appartamento ottocentesco, molto grande e luminoso, arredato in stile.
