Situated in a private apartment, Amsterdam Rubens Bed and Breakfast is
conveniently located in a 1930's residential neighbourhood, in the city
centre.
We are actually within walking distance (or a few tram
stops) of the major museums and tourist attractions.
The up market shopping street Beethovenstraat is very
nearby, exuberant Amsterdam night life is not far away either.
The neighbourhood was designed as a part of "Plan
Amsterdam Zuid" by the famous architect and town planner Berlage in
the 1930's, one of the secrets of Amsterdam: the unspoiled art deco
district. The architectural style is called the "Amsterdamse
School."
Amsterdam Rubens Bed and Breakfast has been renovated in 1996 and brought
back to its original style with modern comforts. The apartment is
decorated in the European style of the 20's and 30's.
Rooms:
Amsterdam Rubens Bed and Breakfast has two rooms that share a small yet
stylish bathroom with shower.
The larger room is appointed with original French Art
Deco furniture, the Frisian Room is now decorated in contemporary style.
It will be converted into traditional Frisian style in the near future.
Our guest rooms are all non-smoking, as is the rest of
our apartment.
Art Deco Room:
Decorated with beautifully restored French art deco
furniture, this room opens to a recessed balcony with morning sun. Why
not enjoy your breakfast here on a sunny day?
Apart from sharing a bathroom with the Frisian Room,
this room has its own washbasin.
Frisian Room:
Not large, but cozy, this guest room...
Wake up to the morning sun and enjoy the balcony. When clicking the
home page, you'll see both rooms at the top floor, above the bay
windows.
You share the bathroom with the guests in the Art Deco
Room.
