If you're looking for a friendly, comfortable
place to stay in Amsterdam, look no further.
The Friendship BnB can accomodate a maximum of four people in two
bedrooms, a well-appointed bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen.
You'll find all this on board of an authentic houseboat in one of
Amsterdam's famous canals. Originally a barge used for carrying cargo,
it is now a very comfortable place to stay.
In the bedroom you'll find a television with major international
channels (Dutch, English, German, Belgian, French and even Turkish and
Spanish). CNN and BBC World are also available.
The bathroom has a bath and shower, and there are separate toilet
facilities.
In the kitchen there is everything you would expect (cooker, fridge,
toaster, sink, coffeemaker and microwave). You can have your breakfast
at the table, and you can lounge in the easy chair. You can check you
emails or surf the web on the computer (unlimited internet access is
included in the price).
Outside there are two (men's) bicycles, which you are welcome to use
during your stay in Amsterdam, if you're brave enough to take on the -
sometimes chaotic - traffic in Amsterdam.
Location:
The Achtergracht is a small canal just off the Amstel river. It is
close to a lot of the major sights: museums like the Rijksmuseum, Van
Goghmuseum, the Amsterdam Historical Museum, the Nautical Museum and
most recently the Amsterdam branch of the Hermitage. But also cultural
venues such as the world famous Concertgebouw, the Muziektheater (home
of The Netherlands Opera and The Dutch National Ballet) and the Carré
theatre. And of course old favourites such as the Flower Market, the
Anne Frank house and the Red Light District.
The houseboat is easily reached by public transport: tram line number
4 (from Central Station) has a stop 150 meters away. Alternatively, the
metro (underground light railway) has a station at about 200 meters
away.
Despite being right in the centre of Amsterdam, the Achtergracht is
surprisingly quiet. There is no through traffic, and the canal is a
dead-end, so there is little traffic on the water too.

Bent u op zoek naar een prettig en comfortabel onderkomen in
Amsterdam? Dat hebt u nu gevonden. De Friendship BnB biedt ruimte aan
maximaal vier personen, in twee slaapkamers, een badkamer en een
volledig uitgeruste keuken.
U treft dit alles aan op een authentieke woonboot in één van de
beroemde Amsterdamse grachten. Oorspronkelijk gebouwd als een
vrachtschip, maar nu een gerieflijk verblijf.
In de slaapkamer staat een tv, waarop een dertigtal zenders te
bekijken zijn.
De badkamer heeft een ligbad met douche. Het toilet is apart van de
badkamer.
De keuken is volledig uitgerust, met gasstel, koelkast, broodrooster,
koffiezetter en magnetronoven. U kunt ontbijten aan de ruime tafel, en
op uw gemak ontspannen in de luie stoel. Voor het geval u uw email wilt
lezen, of wilt surfen op het internet, staat er een computer in de
keuken. (onbeperkte internettoegang is bij uw verblijf inbegrepen).
Buiten staan twee (heren-)fietsen, waar u gebruik van kunt maken
tijdens uw verblijf in Amsterdam. Weet wel dat het verkeer in Amsterdam
soms erg chaotisch kan zijn.
Lokatie:
De Achtergracht is een kleine zijgracht van de Amstel. Veel van de
beroemde attrakties van Amsterdam bevinden zich op loopafstand: musea
zoals het Rijksmuseum, het Van Gogh Museum, het Amsterdams Historisch
Museum, het Scheepvaartmuseum en -sinds kort- de Amsterdamse vestiging
van de Hermitage. Maar u kunt ook cultuur vinden in Het Muziektheater,
het Concertgebouw en theater Carré. Daarnaast is de Friendship BnB ook
dicht bij de Bloemenmarkt en de Wallen.
De Friendship BnB is eenvoudig te bereiken via het openbaar vervoer:
lijn 4 (van het Centraal Station) heeft een halte op ongeveer 100 meter
afstand. Maar er is ook een metrostation op ongeveer 200 meter afstand.
Ondanks het feit dat de Friendship BnB in het centrum van Amsterdam -binnen
de grachtengordel- ligt is het toch bijzonder rustig. Er is geen
doorgaand verkeer op de Achtergracht, en omdat het een doodlopende
gracht is, zijn bootjes ook een uitzondering.
