"Want to stay with friends? Karen & Paul would love to have
you. Easy going hospitality and a sincere desire to please, make a visit
here a charming and personal affair. The McCuskers are doing it for
love."
- Virgin Amsterdam City Guide 2004
The Amsterdam Bed and Breakfast is the delightful and loving project
of Karen McCusker and Paul Galdermans. We invite you to come stay with
us in Amsterdam. Enjoy our romantic rooms, convenient location and
reasonable prices.
We are 10 minutes by tram from the city centre and major museums.
Rooms:
The price of the room includes:
- Blackcurrant gin in the evening
- Chocolates on the pillow at night
- Tea and coffee making facilities are always available
Please note that we have a no smoking policy, smoking is possible
outside the rooms which have gardens or balconies.
There is a shower and toilet next to the rooms. Everything is light,
bright and airy.
We would appreciate it if guests could arrive before 1 PM or after 6
PM because between these times we are generally out.
Suite:
We offer one no smoking suite on a lovely Amsterdam canal, just
opposite the entrance to The Vondelpark.
This beautiful suite has canal views at the front and French doors
leading to a balcony at the back (overlooking the inner gardens). The
suite has a king size bed, cable TV, private bath and open kitchen area
with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits provided. There is a fresh
milk and cereals breakfast and daily maid service.
We kindly ask guests to bring slippers as we have a no-shoes policy
in the suite. The suite is ideal for longer stays because of its size
and the kitchen facilities and also suitable for two couples or a
family.
Possibility to add extra beds.
Reviews:
Here's what various guide books say about us...
Jennifer Susanto-Lee, Travel Journalist:
A warm welcome is always well-received, especially when you've been
travelling 5 hours and you're tired. Karen and Paul are professionals,
and it's evident they put themselves in the shoes (well socks) of
future guests when setting up this bed and breakfast. Clean as a whistle, close
to everything and the complimentary blackcurrant Gin kicks like a
mule. Well worth a stay.
Rick Steve's Amsterdam Guide:
Karen McCusker, a friendly English woman, rents cozy rooms in her
shoes-off home. The rooms are clean, white and bright with red
carpeting & green plants.
