lovely old stone farm house, of typical Provençal style, which
incorporates buildings dating back to the 17th Century.
The house has been carefully renovated to preserve its authentic,
rustic character and charm, without compromising the need for modern
comfort in all the accommodations.

The Mas is surrounded entirely by farmland and is remarkably peaceful
and secluded. The owners, Charles and Andrée Barail, both speak
excellent English. They occupy the main house, and there are two
self-contained studio apartments and two separate, larger two bed roomed
apartments available for guests. All four guest apartments have private
WC, shower, color TV and kitchen facilities.
Rooms:
Each studio apartment has one double bed room and a separate
kitchenette with hot plate, fridge, mini-oven, sink, cooking utensils
and cutlery.
Guests with their personal laptop will have free access to our
private high speed wifi net.
Montmirail and Ventoux:
Each studio apartment has one double-bedded room and a separate
kitchenette with hot plate, fridge, mini-oven, sink, cooking utensils
and cutlery.
Both studios "Montmirail" and "Ventoux" are on
the first floor (UK) second floor (USA), and have French doors opening
onto a private terrace covered with a shady pergola. From the terrace
there is an uninterrupted view of the Dentelles de Montmirail and the
stunning Ventoux mountain.
The apartments have been recently built to a high standard, with
excellent thermal insulation and sound-proofing. They all have their
private shower and toilets. They are decorated tastefully throughout
in the Provençal style.
Ouvèze:
The suite " Ouvèze River ", is on the ground floor (UK)
first floor (USA), with a private terrace covered with a shady pergola
overlooking the attractive flower-filled gardens. It has two bedrooms,
one with a double bed and the other with one single bed, a separate
lounge and a fully equipped kitchen with hot plate, fridge and
congelator, mini-oven, sink, cooking utensils and cutlery. Convenient
only for a family as the bathroom is accessible through the main
bedroom.

private shower and toilets. They are decorated tastefully throughout

Mistral:
The "Mistral" suite located at the first floor (UK)
second floor (USA) comprises two bedrooms and is suitable for 2 to 4
persons, preferably a family with two children.
The lounge looks over the garden and has a direct access to the
pool through its private terrace at the ground floor (UK) first floor
(USA). The main bedroom with a king size bed has a window with view
over the Ventoux Mountain and the Dentelles de Montmirail.
The apartment has been recently built to a high standard, with
excellent thermal insulation and sound-proofing. It has its private
bathroom with shower and toilets. It is decorated tastefully
throughout in the Provençal style.

Avignon:

Orange:
Orange triumph arch and Orange antique theatre have been classified
as mankind's patrimonium by the UNESCO. Choregies Orange festivals in
July. Nice Provence campanile over the City Hall. Orange is only half
an hour from Avignon, famous for its Popes' Palace.

Directions:
Easy Access From European Highways::
Please note that in order to protect the privacy of our guests, we
have deliberately chosen not to signpost the Mas at the entrance of our
driveway.
Coming from the A7 motorway, take the Orange Sud exit ( # 22) and
follow the signs for Avignon. Then turn left on the D 950 road to
Vaison-la-Romaine & Carpentras. Ignore the first sign for Jonquières
and continue on D 950. Then, arriving to a roundabout, follow the Jonquières
sign and before entering the village itself, turn right into the
driveway of the Mas, "Chemin de l'Escarrat". This is directly
after having passed the Sotalis company. (exactly 1 km after the
roundabout).
If you are coming from Orange, pass through the village of Jonquières
towards Carpentras (Avenue de la Libération). Nearly at the village
exit, turn left into a driveway bordered by the walls of the Sotalis
company . At the entrance of the road you'll see a "dead end road
sign". You will find the Mas approximately 400 metres along the
driveway.
Français:
Situé à Jonquières à 10 km d'Orange et à 20 minutes seulement
d'Avignon, au Nord Vaucluse et au coeur de la Provence des Papes, le Mas
du Clos de l'Escarrat est une vieille ferme typiquement provençale dont
les bâtiments les plus anciens ont été édifiés au XVII ème siècle.
Il comprend quatre appartements indépendants ou gites tant chambres d'hôtes
que locations saisonnières, avec vue imprenable sur le mont Ventoux et
les Dentelles de Montmirail, paysages de Provence.
Le Mas comprend deux studios "chambres d'hôtes" totalement
indépendants et deux suites avec un séjour et deux chambres.
Nouvellement réalisés avec une isolation thermique et phonique
parfaite, ces appartements sont équipés d'une kitchenette - ou une
vraie cuisine pour les suites - séparée de la chambre, permettant aux
hôtes qui le désirent de préparer leurs repas. Le petit déjeûner
optionnel est servi sur les terrasses ou dans la salle à manger du Mas.
Chambres:
Chaque studio comprend un lit double, et une kitchenette séparée
avec plaques électriques, réfrigérateur, mini-four, évier, batterie
de cuisine, vaisselle et couverts. Appartements avec douche, WC, linge
de toilette et de lit. Situés au premier étage "Montmirail"
et "Ventoux" ouvrent par une porte fenêtre sur une terrasse
privée avec pergola, depuis laquelle on peut admirer une vue superbe
sur le Mont Ventoux et les "Dentelles de Montmirail".
"Ouvèze", l'appartement du rez-de-chaussée ouvre sur le
jardin fleuri et ombragé. Une terrasse privée avec pergola permet de
prendre les repas à l'ombre. Cette suite comprend une chambre avec lit
double, une chambre avec un lit simple, un séjour, et une cuisine équipée.
Appartement avec douche, WC,linge de toilette et de lit. Convient pour
une famille car la salle d'eau et WC sont accessibles par la chambre
principale.
Un nouvel appartement, "Mistral", disposant de deux
chambres, peut héberger 2 à 4 personnes. La chambre principale est équipée
d'un lit double en 160 cm de large, et la chambre secondaire comprend
deux lits simples superposés.Situé au premier étage, il a vue sur le
jardin et un accès direct à la piscine avec une terrasse privative au
rez-de-chaussée. Ces quatre appartements sont décorés en style provençal.
Le Mas, à seulement 8 km d'Orange est entièrement cerné par les
cultures et n'offre aucune promiscuité de voisinage.
Les hôtes disposant d'un ordinateur portable pourront se connecter
gracieusement au réseau ADSL wifi du Mas.
Accès au Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat:
Pour éviter d'être dérangés par des curieux, et pour préserver
la tranquillité de nos hôtes, nous avons choisi de ne pas signaler le
Mas par des panneaux à l'entrée du chemin. Il vous faut donc suivre
les indications suivantes :
En arrivant par l'A 7 (du Nord ou du Sud) prendre la sortie Orange
Sud (n° 22) et suivre l'indication Avignon par N 7. Au prochain
carrefour prendre à gauche direction Vaison-la-Romaine, Carpentras.
Passer la première indication Jonquières sans la prendre, continuer
sur D 950 jusqu'à un carrefour giratoire et suivre l'indication Jonquières.
Immédiatement après être passé devant l'entreprise Sotalis, tourner
à 90° à droite dans le petit chemin indiqué ci-contre "Chemin
de l'Escarrat"..(exactement 1 km après le giratoire).
En arrivant par la ville d'Orange, traverser Jonquières en direction
de Carpentras (Avenue de la Libération)et prendre le chemin indiqué
ci-contre.
A partir de l'entrée du chemin jusqu'au Mas, il faut compter environ
400 mètres. Dès que vous serez passés sous le vieux pont, vous
apercevrez le Mont Ventoux et les dentelles de Montmirail. Le site est
très joli et très champêtre.
