to our Guest House.
After a tiring day touring our wonderful Northumberland County,
return to the peace and tranquility of the Burnfoot. An idyllic setting,
the house is situated just north of Rothbury, in the village of
Netherton, between Thropton and Alwinton, on the edge of the National
Forest and close to the 68 Pennine Walking and Cycle route. Alnwick is
less than a half hours drive away as are most of the other popular
sites.
Watch the local wildlife from your bedroom window and admire the
wonderful views, stroll through the village of Netherton, pausing at
Fish Pass, built by Lord Armstrong. Experience the magnificent night
skies, where the millions of stars and constellations can be seen.
Situated in the heart of Northumberland, Burnfood Guest House is an
ideal place as a base to tour this spectacular area and enjoy the
convenience of the towns and the beauty of the countryside.

We think it more important how our guests’ rate us.
Guests’ are accommodated in a double, twin or family room with
either en suite or private bathroom. All bathrooms have baths and
showering facilities. All the rooms have colour TV with VCR/DVD, a well
stocked hospitality tray and personal toiletries. We have paid a lot of
attention towards the comfort of our guests. A guests’ lounge is also
available with a large stock of books, and Sky television.
Guests are welcomed with a pot of tea or coffee and homemade cake or
scones. Jess, our beloved companion, likes to act as the butler,
insisting on being first to greet guests with an overwhelming exuberance
and thereafter treats all as family.

Horse Holidays and Trail Rides:
We are offering Horse and Rider days and breaks, to enjoy our
beautiful countryside and the many bridleways now opened.
Transport can be arranged to collect horses if required.
Stabling, feed and where possible, grazing is available, we do not
want horses injured if they decide they don’t like each other.
We can cater for all levels of riding and arrange rides to suit.
