Welcome to Mountain View Bed & Breakfast - a
photographers and artists paradise!
Jane is a professional photographer who works in the First
Nation Communities along the North Shore of Lake Huron and Manitoulin
Island.
Come and experience the heartland of Algoma. Mountain View
Bed and Breakfast is a perfect year round retreat.
Enjoy a stay in the Mississagi River Valley in a timber
frame home with a Finnish sauna overlooking Cumming Lake and Rock Candy
Mountain.
Dozens of lakes, rivers, waterfalls, natural Jacuzzis and
mountains waiting to be explored.
This area offers hiking, biking, swimming, horseback
riding, fishing, canoeing, rock climbing, golfing, snowmobile and
cross-country ski trails. It is one of the top ten fishing areas in North
America for pickeral or walleye. Also known for the snowmobiling trails in
the winter. There is something for everyone here.
Rooms:
Four bedrooms are available for Bed & Breakfast, one
room comes with private ensuite bathroom and a queen size bed, another has
a single and double bed, and the other two have double beds.
Sit by the
fireplace and enjoy homemade meals! Price
includes an evening snack and full breakfast.
Other meals are available upon request.
Location:
Resting on the south shore of beautiful Cumming Lake,
Mountain View Bed & Breakfast is located in what is truly one of the
most scenic regions in Ontario, the heartland of the Missisaugi River
Valley.
The town of Thessalon (population 1,700) is located a
half-hours drive to the south, along highway #17 (the Trans Canada) from
Sault Ste. Marie.
To get here from Sault Ste. Marie:

Take highway #17 east to Thessalon

Turn north onto highway 129 (the Chapleau Road).

Drive for approximately 25 miles to Tunnel Lake
Trading Post (on the right-hand side of the road).

Turn into the sixth driveway – look for the Bed and
Breakfast and Mundy sign.
Scenery:
Hidden away in the heart of Algoma,
Mountain View Bed & Breakfast is a perfect getaway retreat. It is an
artists and photographers paradise!
You can enjoy a quiet stay in a timber
frame home overlooking beautiful Cumming Lake and Rock Candy Mountain.
Hear the haunting calls of the loons
as the sun settles over the horizon.
From the highest peak from Rock Candy
Mountain you can see Cumming, Tunnel and Axe Lake, as well as the wild
forests below. It is truly something to behold!
A short drive away you can see, the
natural whirlpools at Snowshoe Creek, Pig Pen Chutes on the Mississagi
River, Aubrey Falls, the Little White River and numerous other lakes.
Nearby mixed forests are perfect for
hiking and bird watching. You may even see animals such as foxes, bears,
deer, beavers, muskrats, and or moose.
