Chattaways is a modern bed and breakfast with two large bright
comfortable suites, overlooking the Campbell River, in South Surrey.
The suites are tastefully decorated in warm inviting
colours, each with a private entrance and deck, where you can relax and
enjoy the view. You may have the choice of a full cooked breakfast
served family-style in the dining room, or a continental breakfast of
fresh fruit and baked goods with cheese and jams.
Our location is very convenient, about two minutes west
of Highway 99 (exit 2) the first turn-off north of the Peace Arch border
crossing, and within easy walking distance of the beautiful beaches of
White Rock.
In the South Surrey and White Rock area there are many
fine golf courses, as well as nature trails, sandy beaches, shopping
malls, art galleries, and museums... something for everyone!
At Chattaways you will be greeted with a smile by your

where the herons nest.
About White Rock:
Chattaways Bed and Breakfast is located close to just
about anything you may be looking for. With scenic White Rock only a few
moments away, and easy access to the border, golf courses, shopping, and
so much more... we're your ideal central location for business or
holidays.
The city of White Rock is named after the 400 ton white
rock that which lies on the beach just east of the pier. The huge
boulder is a glacial left-over, although Salish lore tells a much more
colourful account of how it arrived on the beach.
Sunny White Rock / South Surrey is located 1.5 miles
north of the Douglas (Peace Arch) border crossing and occupies the
Semiahmoo peninsula. The peninsula is renowned for its sandy beaches,
nature trails, quaint restaurants, coffee bars, tea rooms, art
galleries, waterfront dining and spectacular sunsets.
The city's pier - stretching 1,559 feet into the ocean
is one of White Rock's major features. Dating back to 1915, it's wooden
planks attract crab fishers, swimmers, and hundreds of leisurely
walkers.
A red brick promenade lines three miles of waterfront
stretching from Semiahmoo Park in the east along many oceanside
landmarks to the popular west beach.
White Rock experiences thousands of hours of sunshine
each year. White Rock Beach and Crescent Beach offer a great setting for
swimming, kayaking, skim boarding, windsurfing, and sailing.
Stroll past the legendary White Rock, picnic overlooking
the promenade or visit the historic White Rock Museum and Archives.
White Rock's Marine Drive, the epicentre of the
peninsula, is where the young and old get together and celebrate life.
It's a place where the daily passing of trains still inspire children to
wave and adults to watch with awe as powerful wheels roll along the
tracks. The grassy stretch along the railway tracks is the summer home
to sun worshippers, hackey sackers, families and youth.
Marine Drive is famous for great food, especially the
fish and chips and homemade ice cream. Many street-side patios take
advantage of the warm weather for those looking to enjoy an outdoor
feast. When the searing rays heat up the strip, ice cream and suntan
lotion become the biggest sellers, although shoppers can buy everything
from antiques to swimsuits in the dozens of beach front businesses.
There are incredible exploration opportunities to be
found right here in Semiahmoo Bay with its beautiful scenery, abundance
of birds and marine wildlife. One of the best ways to discover the
shores is by kayak or by walking along one of the many different paths
or nature trails.
A golfer's heaven awaits among the majestic trees,
rolling hills and natural beauty of the Semiahmoo Peninsula. Whether
you're a professional golfer looking for a challenge, or a novice
seeking the thrill of dropping balls at a par 3 course, White Rock and
South Surrey are on par for every golfer's need. We are the
self-declared golfing capital of Canada with 15 golf courses and 5
driving ranges within a 15 minute drive of the centre of White Rock /
South Surrey.
Holidays, Business, Sports, Entertainment and more..
White Rock and South Surrey have something to offer to everyone. With an
old-country charm and all the modern conveniences, the Semiahmoo
Peninsula is just waiting to be discovered!
