Our name, Groove, comes from a fusion of everything we have encountered and experienced in our journey through life and travels around our planet.

This fusion is the basis upon which Groove has been created. Our guesthouse is a twist on the European original and the North American bed & breakfast with two luxury, oceanfront suites, Mediterranean / Asian inspired restaurant and cocktail / tapas bar.

At Groove, eating and drinking play an integral part in our daily lives. Our simple yet diverse cuisine comes from a melting pot of influences inspired by the fusion of recipes from Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas. We look forward to tempting you with food and drink as colorful as Brazil itself.

We chose this area of Brazil for Groove because it is rich in ecotourism. In addition to the whales that come to breed in the warm waters of our coast, the extreme south of Bahia has a varied landscape offering everything anyone could dream of from nature. Located directly on the beach, surrounded by an Atlantic forest, Groove offers its guests both privacy and convenience. At the heart of Costa das Baleias, Alcobaça is the gateway to the Parque Nacional Marinho de Abrolhos, Parque Nacional do Monte Pascoal, Parque Nacional do Descobrimento and the Recife das Timbebas to name just a few.

Whether you are looking for peace and quiet to rest and relax or a home base for your activities in the region, Groove is prepared to help you make the most of your visit. Stroll through our private forest, bike along the coast, snorkel amongst the coral reefs, take a day trip to the Abrolhos or simply enjoy the sun on our pristine beach … the choice is yours. Directions:

From the north (Salvador - 835 Km / Porto Seguro - 235 Km): Take BR-101 south to Itamaraju exiting the BR-101 to your right and then crossing over it following the signs for Itamaraju / Centro. As you pass the main bus terminal, you will turn left following the signs for Prado (BR-489) for 56 Km. You will drive straight through Prado exiting it by taking the BA-001 in the direction of Guaratiba / Alcobaça for 20 Km.

From the south (Rio de Janeiro - 935 Km / Vitória - 415 Km): Take BR-101 north to Teixeira de Freitas exiting the BR-101 to your right following the signs for Prado / Alcobaça / Caravelas (BA-290) for 60 Km.

From the entrance to Alcobaça, you will drive 3 Km where you will turn left onto a dirt road that will take you to the lighthouse of Alcobaça. Upon reaching the lighthouse, you will turn left once again and drive another 3 Km along the coast until you reach Groove Brasil.
