The gardens at Woodbyne are regarded as one of the most important on the South Coast and beautifully reflect the changing seasons.

  • Accessibility
  • Peace and quiet
  • Unobtrusive service
  • Exclusive use of facilities

These are features which attract guests to Woodbyne.

Woodbyne is an escape, a quiet spot in a rural setting.

Rooms:

The eleven rooms are large, the neutral tone of the walls create a simple, elegant backdrop for the varying accents of furnishings and fabrics.

Guest suites are spacious, light filled and refined, with views of the meadows, creek and gardens.

Each has its own luxurious bathroom, a small dressing area, bar fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms have a comfortable sofa, desk, table & chairs, television and video player and all Sydney TV programs are received. A number of videos are available from the library.

The seven large and exquisitely appointed guest rooms are located in quiet seclusion around a central garden courtyard at the rear of the property. All open onto a deck which leads to a delightful plunge pool and lounging area.

Sydney morning newspapers are delivered to each room.

Breakfast:

Breakfast is served in the breakfast room, in the courtyard by the pool, or in the sunken garden.

Gardens:

Trees line the driveway and mature trees encircle the boundaries of the 1.4 hectare garden which has become a sought after venue for small functions.

Wedding parties are drawn to the path leading to the pond, and the statue of The Bather beyond.

Some take the entire facilities of Woodbyne for the wedding ceremony and reception as well.

The formal reflection pool is framed with clipped Manchurian pears. A bronze statue stands at the end of the pool, against a curtain of Bhutan cypress.

Residents of the hotel can stroll around the gardens at their leisure.

About Woodbyne:

Woodbyne is located 3.5 kilometers south of Berry, on the south coast of NSW, and is a comfortable two hour drive from Sydney. It is minutes away from historic Berry and Kangaroo Valley, National Parks, beaches, rainforests, Jervis Bay and Point Perpendicular.

The Hotel is surrounded by 3.5 acres of classically inspired gardens and lawns set amidst the lush landscape, with the backdrop of the escarpment of the Great Dividing Range.

Woodbyne is part of the old Jaspers Brush School property, which was established in 1897. The school master's home has been converted into the guest's lounge and reception.
